Gregory Itzin: President Charles Logan
Quotes
-
President Charles Logan : [Referring to having Aaron beaten and tied to a chair] I'm sorry about this. Listen to me, you think you know what's going on, I'm here to tell you
Aaron Pierce : Then why don't you explain it to me?
President Charles Logan : I understand Jack Bauer led you to believe there was a recording: something that "tied" to David Palmer's murder. That recording does not exist
Aaron Pierce : That's not what I've been told
President Charles Logan : You're not hearing what I'm saying. The recording... does... not... exist. It's over, you have a choice here, you are a good man, and you are a fine agent. I see no reason to throw away your career but I need to know we can put this behind us. If you will give me your word that you will let this drop, I will make sure you are reassigned to whatever post you want, except for the White House of course so what's it going to be? Are my terms acceptable?
-
President Charles Logan : [Over the phone] what's this I hear about a conference call you scheduled with the Attorney General? Is there some problem I should know about?
Karen Hayes : [Over the speakerphone as Jack listens] it's nothing Sir: it's a mistake. The conference call was canceled
President Charles Logan : Good, I'm glad to hear that. Listen, the real reason for my call is Jack Bauer
Karen Hayes : What about Jack Bauer?
President Charles Logan : I'm embarrassed to say after further review, it appears the evidence against him is at best inconclusive, I'll have our lawyers continue to work on it of course but for the time being I'm suspending the arrest order
Karen Hayes : You're dropping the charges against Bauer?
President Charles Logan : That's correct
Karen Hayes : You have had this office, other agencies, and the military dedicate all man power and resources into apprehending Jack Bauer
President Charles Logan : Yes, based on evidence I initially thought was creditable. Now I have new information that's convinced me the original Intel was faulty
Karen Hayes : Am I to release Bauer Sir?
President Charles Logan : [Before he hangs up] I'll leave that to your discretion. Thank you, good work, we'll be in touch
Jack Bauer : His letting me go because he knows his won
Karen Hayes : What does he gain by releasing you?
Jack Bauer : I'll be on my own: alone, unprotected, a perfect target
-
Graem Bauer : [Over the phone] I confess I didn't expect to hear from you again
President Charles Logan : The situation's changed: everything's under control. The recording's been destroyed so it's no longer a problem
Graem Bauer : That's very good news, what about the people that have already heard it?
President Charles Logan : They can't do anything without proof. I don't think any further action needs to be taken
Graem Bauer : Then can we assume you've got the rest of your house in order?
President Charles Logan : By that you mean my wife? Yes, she's cooperating fully. As for Aaron Pierce is another matter, I've taken care of that
Graem Bauer : Of course, what about Jack Bauer?
President Charles Logan : I've already given Karen Hayes authority to release him: the "arrangements" that we discussed about taking him out have already been set in motion
Graem Bauer : It appears you have everything well in hand
President Charles Logan : Yes, I said I would handle it and I have. The situation's contained, there's nothing more to worry about
-
Mike Novick : I just got off the phone with Karen Hayes: Vladimir Bierko has escaped
President Charles Logan : What? How?
Mike Novick : The caravan transporting him to District was ambushed
President Charles Logan : Damn it. I thought we "rolled" Homeland Security into CTU was to avoid screw ups like this?
Mike Novick : There's more Sir, they have reason to believe Bierko is "reading" another attack
President Charles Logan : What kind of attack?
Mike Novick : CTU is working on that now
President Charles Logan : I want constant updates: you keep me apprised on their progress
Mike Novick : Yes Sir
