The Mama Who Came to Dinner (#1.1)

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we just get introduced to the characters.

Nothing interesting happens yet. We just get the idea of their situation and who they are.

I felt there was a bit of overacting at first. Yet, I do like the characters. They do seem to be the usual sitcom stereotypes: the teenage boy who wants to party, the girl who wants to be an adult, the man who thinks he is the head of the household, the woman who actually is and the grandma that takes over.

But so far I did like Carl Winslow and his mom. They seem to be very sweet characters. Let's see what happens now and maybe it will be a good show

Great First Episode

Great pilot episode that would eventually kick off one of the best family shows ever aired on television.

Where's Urkel?

Warning: Spoilers
If this is what Family Matters would have been like without Urkel, they never would have gotten past the first season. The focus was on Mother Winslow coming to live with the family. Why was Carl against this? Who really cared?! The premise was uninteresting and unfunny. Something else was needed here. The show had a large cast, none of them doing much. We had Laura, but she needed Steve! I guess the show's producers soon realized this.
