How Much Can a CAR Reveal About Our Society... Warning: Spoilers
How Much Can a CAR Reveal About Our Society...

------- ------- ------- -------

Steve and Al buy an old classic car that was property of Roger, the guy that Kelly was dating. Interestingly, Kelly doesn't seem interested in Roger anymore now that he doesn't have a car. We could try to buy her version of the story when she says that she won't walk on the street with a guy who is wearing a "dog's collar", but she never minded the collar when he had a car and she even said that she loved him.

On their side, now that they both love the car and everything about it like fixing and buying original parts for it, Al finally seems to have a reason to respect Steve and is the only episode so far where they seem to be friends instead of Steve being the good neighbor trying to be gentle and Al just being...well, you know... Al.

Marcy?... Well...we are pretty sure she loves Steve but she doesn't like any of those things that Steve has in common with other men, like being fan of sports, cars, engines in general, fixing things, etc... and Steve actually had to renounce to a lot of this stuff for his relationship with Marcy to work...until this episode.

During this episode we will see Steve and Al falling in love with this car to the point of Steve calling the dirt from it "Mustang's juice" and forgetting their wives a little, which was already an habit for Al but not for Steve.

Eventually, even when our story officially ends after they found out their beloved car was actually stolen, and it was therefore confiscated after its first ride and a fight with a police man, everything had already begun going back to normal, or at least as it had always been. Al had begun remembering he really doesn't like to hang around with Steve, Steve had started to remember that he loves his wife more than cars, and Kelly...no, the episode gives no sign at all she ever dated Roger again...or any other guy without a car!

(Oh... ...and the only part of the episode where Marcy and the 65 Mustang seemed to have coexisted was when she and Steve decided to have "their first time in a car" in the back seat of the car... ...that was still in Al and Peg's garage.)

Thanks for reading.

Al and Steve buy a Car!
Sylviastel22 April 2009
Al and Steve bond while restoring a car that they bought from one of Kelly's dates who she dumps when she learns that he sold his car. Al and Steve restore the car and they become obsessed with it much to the dismay of their wives, Peg and Marcy. While Peggy recalls her days in the backseats, Marcy confesses that she never done it in the back seat of a car. "We put our groceries there" she tells Peg. When Steve and Marcy do get to do it, they are found out by the Bundys. Resentful of their obsession with their lost youth and the car, Peg and Marcy are quite tolerable until as always things don't go for Steve and Al as well with their new toy.

All you want to do is ride around Al 'n' Steve.
BA_Harrison13 November 2020
Al and Steve bond over the restoration of a 1965 Mustang, which they buy from Kelly's date Roger. While the men spend all their spare time renovating the rusty automobile, Peggy and Marcy get mad.

Steve dreams of cruising the streets with Al in their fully restored car, and Al dreams of cruising the streets with two pneumatic bikini babes. After a conversation with Peggy about having sex in the back seat of a car, Marcy makes it with Steve in the Mustang, which leads to Al taunting Marcy about the act whenever possible ("You girls get in the back... Marcy will show you the way!").

In the end, the car turns out to be stolen and is impounded by the police.

A reasonably amusing episode overall - no real belly laughs to be had, but a fair few chuckles.
