Some great wisdom mixed with some classic Avatar humor

I love the part of this episode is when Iroh is explaining each individual element. Not only is the animation satisfying, but the message is great.

The most powerful part of this episode is when Zuko wants Iroh to shoot lightning at him, but he won't so he goes into the heart of a thunderstorm. No lightning ever comes after him, but it is so emotional.

Aang gets his first dose of Earthbending; Toph proves to be a brash and unrelenting teacher.

And then of course we have our humorous excursion. Sokka gets stuck in a hole next to a baby animal he affectionately names Foofoocuddleypoops.

9/10.

Full of Wisdom

Warning: Spoilers
Easily one of the best episodes of the season. The riders did a great job of making an immersive story while giving practical lessons through the characters. This episode is chock full of wisdom through Zukos turmoil in firebending and Aangs style learning Earthbending.

"You've never held back before"

Katara: Is mostly just present within the episode though she is supportive of Aang and she has good point when suggesting that Aang struggles with Earthbending because Earth and Air are natural opposites. (In Season Three, it's revealed that Roku found Waterbending particularly difficult so she's right.)

Sokka: The meat and sarcasm is as hilarious as ever and I'm glad that he gives up neither meat nor sarcasm

Aang: Has to learn that the "typical Airbender tactics, avoid and evade" don't always work and that he has to learn to be a lot tougher and more aggressive to be an Earthbender in stark contrast to

Zuko: who must learn to be less aggressive, violent and short-tempered to clear his mind and create lightning even though Uncle Iroh is reluctant to fire it at him in contrast to

Toph: who puts Aang headfirst into advance and intense training forcing him to struggle to become stronger as she shows no restraint at all.

Iroh: We get some more of his perspective and where it comes from (especially the idea of wisdom having to come from more than one source) and I like the extent to which Zuko worked on nursing his uncle back to health after the previous episode.

This episode was quite good.
