The visuals here of giant mechs facing an invader here, taking over the city power grid to fire a massive rifle that would be the size of a city block is sci-fi on a collosal scale. The sci-fi here is absolutely top tier stuff and if this doesn't get you going I don't know what will.

I have seen this episode many times already, and it still has the capacity to pull me in. Worth watching, even if it is just for this one episode.

Rei and Shinji's first cooperation

It was good chance to understand between them. And the scene of cooperation was great, especially background music. I'm wondering Rei and Ikari commander done before the episodes start.
