Trivia:
The title is a reference to the film 'Run Silent, Run Deep (1958)', an allegory to Moby Dick, which stars Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster. more
Goofs:
Factual errors: The cigarette butt found in the ground simply wouldn't have existed. It takes, on average, five years for a butt to biodegrade, and a maximum of about 12 years. As this was under a football pitch, that is watered very often, five years would be most likely. more

Gary and Carmine bring me to tears, 10 July 2006

Author: (nancegio) from New York

Nice to see such intense character driven scenes on a CSI Show. Would love to see more! I believe that episodes like Run Silent Run Deep would benefit from a one story episode as the secondary story line does not leave the time to get into the depth of a story like this. Perhaps the producers should consider not cramming 2 story lines into an episode with so much story to tell. The performance by Carmine will be one I remember and I hope that we will see more story lines bringing the characters back story to the front line. I hope the 3rd season will bring more of this kind of episode because this viewer needs more than scientist exploring a crime scene to keep her engaged. As we come to know the characters outside of the crime scene we are pulled into the show in a very addictive way.
