Call this an unfair generalisation if you must...

Homer and Moe start a bowling team, whilst Springfield Elementary School introduces uniforms.

This is a strong episode with some excellent visuals.

If you like the stories that throw random residents of Springfield together like 'The B Sharps', you should enjoy this one as it uses numerous characters very well. Easily the funniest jokes are visual, such as Mr Burns on Ether, all the bowling related slapstick, Homer's trophy cabinet, and the ingenious grouping and naming of certain bowling teams. The sub-plot regarding the school children losing their individuality is very well done also.

It has a great cynically funny ending that works very well and is the polar opposite to some of the more sentimental ideas that writers used in several other episodes.

Burns Strikes Again

When Homer and the gang start a bowling team using Mr. Burns money, they soon realize what eventually the caustic old fart will get his pound of flesh. He joins the team. This is a solid effort with some great byplay among the regulars. Even Apu proves to be quite skilled. We have a separate plot where Bart creates a "Down with Homework" teeshirt causing enormous disruption at the elementary school.

I can't remember how often I've seen episodes from the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons, which in my humble opinion represents the golden years, although there are some honorable mentions in later seasons. Anyway, Team Homer sees Homer and his Scooby Gang being usurped by Mr Burns and it ain't pretty on the bowling circuit (not lawn bowls).

Anyway, Team Homer has its funny moments, although it's interesting to know what the writers thought about the reference to the Oscar winning star of The Killing Fields, but anyway. Team Homer is worth watching at least once as it's part of the golden era.

Team Homer is probably a episode that much focuses on how much Homer really joined the Bowling team, the episode follows Bart and Milhouse finding a MAD Special and when Bart gets a T-shirt saying Down With Homework, everybody gets Down with their homework and screams around. But then when Skinner realizes that he knew it was from MAD they made all the students wear uniforms but Homer on the other hand was joined on a bowling competition by getting Money from Burns accidentally that he is hallucinating a Poppins character, then Moe, Otto and Apu are joined in the game, but when Burns joins the game because of reputation, he steals the trophy and escapes with Homer trying to get it back

Great episode, brings me back the memories of the Simpsons, great acting and marvelous script, The humor as always funny
