Crazy drama
ldisr27 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I too thought there was just way too much drama and family craziness. Claudia and her sister with the remodeling of the house and the beauty salon suddenly coming alongside the vet clinic became ridiculous even for TV drama. Also the ongoing in office personal stuff was just too much to be believable let alone enjoyable. I stuck with it to see how the Fiona drama would end but that too with the level of unraveling was too much, the final straw was the horrible ending. I had hoped for a better resolution with Fiona but should have expected the tragic over the top ending. And then that was it, no epilogue or followup, Anything good with the animal scenes or scenery got lost with the constant soap opera drama.

... this production deserved a wider audience, and an ending
bjarias16 November 2023
... Doctor Who - Battlestar Galactica - Lost - The Wire - Entourage - 24 - Veronica Mars - Torchwood - The Sopranos - Curb Your Enthusiasm - Spooks - The West Wing - The X Factor - Arrested Development - The Shield - Deadwood - Grey's Anatomy - Gilmore Girls... list goes on-n-on

... 2006 a year of major competition for shows like The Chase, a good show but comeon, going up against real heavyweights, hardly was a match... a soap with loads of family drama, lies, infidelity, kids... All Creatures Great & Small on steroids... running just for two seasons 8 & 12 episodes... it was a show that really-maybe could have should-have gone longer, yet what would there have been left to tell... maybe like an ending worth an effort

... manner in which this production concluded after twenty episodes is absolute rubbish... and is-NOT worth-time-spent-watching.. period... leaving viewers abruptly-hanging sheer-nonsense.

Yes, It's a Soap!
ronlda5 December 2023
This series would put many of the old daytime soap operas to shame! The whole village is rife with one illicit affair after another and the featured family is no exception. Unfortunately, probably a lot of realism with everyday life in rural England as it is in rural America or probably many countries. Just forget all the various simultaneous dramas going on and view it as a comedic "what's next" and the series takes on a whole new perspective. No, this much utter craziness probably doesn't exist in many families thankfully and it's a wonder we don't see more of the characters punching each other out. Just go with the flow and it's entertaining; expect it to make sense and you won't like it.

Just what BBC needed

At last a worthy veterinary show. This show is full of top stars and twisting plots. The show begun with Keith Barrons wedding and him announcing he was handing the practise over to his two very different daughters. The first episode begun with the affair of Anna's husband tom and the vet nurse Fiona and the arrival of the sister Sarah from London. The show is just what we need on a Sunday night. I really enjoy this and hope after the 8 episodes another series will be made. I give this 10 out 10. SUPERB. I would recommend this show to anyone of all ages who enjoys cute animals and a good story. This show may have competition with Where the heart is on ITV but i tape that and watch the chase.

The Drama is Comical
canabera28 October 2023
I was so set to enjoy this show on Acorn - love the locale and seemed like a good plot. So disappointed. The overdone drama, goes from one crisis to the next in a matter of seconds - tiresome to the point of becoming comical. The acting is mediocre. Can't believe this was given a Season 2.

I managed to get through First Season, 3 episodes and just couldn't manage the rest. All Creatures Great and Small it ain't. There are too many crisis going at one time so hard to keep track of exactly what is happening.

Overall this reminds me of a cheesy soap opera and that believe it not, is a stretch. Acorn usually has great shows but this was not one of them.

Coronation Street, but with animals!
qui_j15 December 2023
This is not "All Creatures Great and Small". It's a very thinly disguised, very bad, cheesy soap opera that is filled with characters who lie, cheat, steal etc. The acting is pretty bad and the script pretty much matches the putrid and cloying soundtrack. The sets are pretty much designed for a soap opera, with vases of flowers everywhere one might look. The editing is done in the format of a soap opera. A laughable bit is when the Dad has his heart attack and clutches the right side of his chest and arm. You would think a Vet show would at least get the basics right.

The thing with streaming services like Britbox and AcornTv is that they seem to fill their queues with all the failed shows on British TV, and then wonder why viewers do not stay with them on a long term basis. They are services best visited intermittently to watch the very few shows that are actually worthwhile, years after they have run their course on British TV.

Oh FFS
sunnydale200415 December 2023
The first season was good but season 2 I don't even know where to begin. First off Tom is the absolute most dimwitted human being. Fiona literally made my flesh crawl off my bones. The other players are so clueless and insist on repeatedly lying about everything. I can honestly say this series frustrated me so bad mostly the Fiona thing. Oh dear God this is the creepiest storyline in a drama series I've ever watched. I actually had a soft spot for Claudie and her siblings. Liam was a complete sweetheart and Claudie really did love George to bits. Anna and Sarah were horrible to Claudie from the off. Claudie was actually just defending her ground the only way she knew how. If you want anger and flesh crawling ick this is the series for you.
