Don't waste your time...

This was the biggest pile of garbage I ever attempted to watch! I had such high hopes with such an amazing Native cast. Alas, that was not to be. It felt like a high schooler wrote, directed and filmed this atrocity. I've seen better acting at a preschool play!!!

A great look at how corruption works..

Warning: Spoilers
This film was great with a mostly Native cast. However I believed the point to this film was to show how corrupt the casino business really is. The 2 guys only cared to fill in their own pockets with the money they would make from it. Ninety-nine point nine nine nine percent of all casinos are operated illegally or through mob ties which are corrupt ways to run a business. What they should have done was to open a golf course/resort. THAT would have been a much better idea since it would have been more legit and barely any corruption involved. Gary Farmer's character even discussed the idea with the head corporate guy who pushed for the casino. But that was ONLY IF they went ahead with the casino and in turn they would construct the golf course with it.

Anyways.... I may be biased but there is some strange connection between casinos and corruption. Maybe I've been watching too much TV, movies etc. That's only my view on it. Nonetheless, this is still a good film to watch. That's why I'm giving this one a 9 out of 10.

The story was there but...,

I wanted this to be so great because I know Tim Ramos, who wrote, directed & played the lead role. I wrote a review over at "Examiner News" after finally watching the film online. I was into the movie & story until I saw a boom microphone drop down into two shots. That just ruined it for me. It broke into reality. I also thought Nick (Tim) had more of a brother relationship with his best friend Ron instead of Chi (Gil Birmingham). I just didn't believe it. I really liked the sports radio DJ idea & wished there was more. Visually, the reservation home, landscapes & lakes had character. I just can't get over that boom microphone. But hey, Tim gave it his best shot as a native filmmaker. All the best Tim. RP
