A+ episode

'Lisa Gets an A' is a personal favorite, partly because it's a Lisa episode (in which she learns a very important lesson about cheating . . . kinda), and also because the Homer-doing-something-stupid storyline is hysterical. Pinchy the lobster is a great prop/side character, and the fact that Homer grows fond of his food offers plenty of humor.

It's got everything: comedy, Ralph, Gill, even a withering look at Springfield Elementary's decrepit state.

One of my favorite's of the season. Lisa cheats on a test cause she gets addicted to crash bandicoot. The side polt is hilarious with homer raising lobster.

Lisa...Our Moral Compass

While at home ill, Lisa gets hooked on video games. She doesn't read the assigned book and is set to fail her test. But Bart gets her a copy with the answers and guilt is now the issue. Meanwhile, Homer buys a lobster and names him Pinchy. His plan. To fatten the little guy up. Decent episode with some fun twists.

Breaking the Mold of Perfection

This was the last episode of the series to which I gave a perfect score. Then came 'Poorhouse Rock,' a recent episode by Tim Long, and that became the last one I gave a perfect score to.

The reason why 'Lisa Gets An A' seems like a perfect episode to me is that I think we all had a desire to see Lisa fail an exam. In my early school years, I used to ace all my exams, but then it became more challenging, and I started to fail some. So, as a child, I found Lisa's character too perfect to be true. The fact that she failed because she got distracted by a video game makes her much more relatable. Truth be told, I had a classmate whom I never saw failing an exam, but gradually, he started getting lower grades than the straight A's he used to get. Watching Lisa consistently get top grades throughout the series was no longer realistic, and this episode was necessary to break that unrealistic image of the character.
