Warning: Spoilers
Debra and Ray go away for a weekend, taking a suitcase that Debra wanted to take and Ray did not. Ray doesn't want to take it up because he didn't want to bring it originally. Knowing that he will eventually travel for work, Debra plans to wait Ray out until he travels again and HAS to move the suitcase.

My subjective opinion: the funniest, most insightful 1/2 hour comedy on marital power struggles ever, and my favorite episode among all the episodes in this series.

Of course, since this is a wonderful, extremely well-written series, the above recommendation constitutes lavish praise.

Who will give in first when it comes to putting things away?

Warning: Spoilers
Ray has been away on a business trip and when he returns home, he carelessly leaves his suitcase on the staircase landing rather than taking it on up to the bedroom and unpacking it. Debra refuses to do it for him and decides to just leave it there on the landing until Ray does something about it. It has been sitting there for two weeks. Ray and Debra are in a standoff over the suitcase, with each waiting on the other to do something about putting it away. Ray's brother, Robert, comes over and sees the suitcase sitting on the landing. Robert asks Ray if he can borrow the suitcase for his honeymoon. Ray explains he and Debra have been locked in an "unspoken" battle of wills over the principle of who is responsible for putting the suitcase away. Although Robert thinks Ray and Debra are insane, Frank and Marie can easily relate and offer their own words of wisdom. Frank counsels Ray and Marie advises Debra on how to resolve their marital differences. This episode ends with Marie showing Debra the fork and spoon which she has had hanging on the wall in her kitchen for 45 years in spite of both Marie and Frank not liking them.
