By far the worst episode of the season

While the other episodes of 30 Days have aimed to be eye opening, and the first one was quite remarkable, this episode is ridiculously artificial.

Even taking the 'experiment' on face value, the mother in question rarely drinks in front of her daughter, does nothing to account for the fact that she is 43 (not 19), doesn't combine her drinking with the party lifestyle which seems to be what her daughter really enjoys, and simply makes a fool of herself along the way.

It is clear throughout the episode, from the daughter's comments, that this mother failed to enforce boundaries for her daughter when she was younger and is now trying to deal with that after her daughter reaches adulthood. And there is no attempt to introduce any real balance with the episode reinforcing the myth that _everyone_ binge drinks when they're in college.

A very disappointing end.

The mom wanted to show her spoiled daughter the dangers of binge drinking, but didn't do any of her most aggressive (and sloppy) drinking in front of her daughter. Every time they showed the daughter drinking, she was at school with her friends. I just didn't get this entire episode.

I was really surprised at how open the daughter was about her drinking, and the mom's flighty, weak and helpless attitude towards it. The daughter turned the mom into a joke.

The only emotional part of the show was seeing the son get upset. He was still young enough where he wanted his mom's attention. You could see everything he was thinking in his expressions.

All in all, Morgan picked the wrong family for this episode.

Spoiled, possibly alcoholic daughter who has been taught absolutely NOTHING about boundaries, responsibility or maturity? Check. Mother who never taught her daughter that she owes her parents at least a modicum of respect? Check!

This episode was almost painful to watch. The mother apparently decided that binge drinking for a month would somehow entice her disrespectful, ill-behaved daughter to cut back on her own binge drinking. How, exactly, was this supposed to work? I never quite figured that out. Like I said, this episode was almost painful to watch. I wo8uld give anything to be able to follow up on this family to see if there were actually any results from the mother's "plan"...
