I don't think this episode gets the credit ut deserve

This episode is brilliantly directed. It may lack action scenes but the comedy and some emotional elements of it totally works out fine and reminds us how just cleverly this show has been made. The humor in this episode was probably one of the best among all the animated shows I have ever seen; The jokes are smartly written and they are not cheesy at all and also we get a chance to discover more about the dualities that a certain character is struggling with. All in all, this episode was so pleasant to watch.

SECRET TUNNEL

Easily one of the most iconic episodes. Can't go wrong with the secret tunnel song.

A funny one

Warning: Spoilers
I love "Avatar", but usually I don't find jokes very amusing. This episode, however, made me change my mind. Sokka's discouragement and Iroh's ignorance of plants were very funny. Also, the history of Omashu was very interesting.

A true love story

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of my favorites in the whole series, basically because Aang and Katara travel alone through "The Cave of Two Lovers" and we see their relationships being revealed. I love the part where they both kiss and the cave lights up a path towards the exit. In the meantime Sokka travels with a bunch of hippie-like nomads who he gets annoyed by, since they always sing and who aren't very smart.

Also this episode is like a reference to William Shakespears "Romeo & Juliet". Since this episode tells a story about two lovers who meet each other and both fall in love. One problem for the couple is that the two villages each one is from both hate each other which makes the relationship between the lovers very complicated.

I hate to spoil the rest so I will leave it at that. But this is a sweet and funny Avatar episode which should be known as "A True Love Story." 5 stars!

The Cave Of Two Lovers: HILARIOUS
poseyfan12 February 2023
This is one of my favorite episodes in the series for the sole reason of it being hilarious.

"We're nomads!" "Hey, I'm a nomad!" "Hey, so are we!"

"...that gives us-10 hours!" "It doesn't work like that if they're all lit at the same time!!"

And we can't forget the amazing Secret Tunnel song.

There is also some great character development in this one as well. Kataang gets one of it's most prominent moments. We learn more about the world of Avatar; namely about the badger moles and Omashu.

Avatar is a great show because it can be for all ages to enjoy. I am super glad that it is getting the attention it deserves years after its initial released.

A Band of Travelling Hippies

Oh god, although there's a lot to love in this funny episode I just have to say that the Hippies, especially their leader, are SO incredibly annoying! Very infuriating to be subjected constantly to their inane songs and stoner ramblings.

Secret Tunnel

Warning: Spoilers
The Singing Nomads are hilarious as is Sokka being the straight man to all of their hijinks. I also like how this episode works on Aang and Katara's relationship and Sokka's plan to escape the secret tunnel by following Giant Badger Moles.

I also find everything about Uncle Iroh at the beginning of the episode extraordinarily funny and Prince Zuko's entire side story sad and compelling. I also like how this episode builds up Princess Azula as a threat without even showing her as a character at all.

I like the Romeo and Juliet style backstory that this movie gives to justify the creation of Earthbending and I like how this episode leads directly into the next one.

This episode is great.
