Homer Versus Bart!
g-bodyl6 January 2015
This is the fourteenth episode of the fourth season of the Simpsons. It's not as funny as other episodes, but the drama side is very good. The episode shows despite all the pranks Bart pulls, he is truly in need of a caring father and this episode has Bart and Homer at odds with each other. There are some funny moments, especially the fistfight we see near the end.

In this episode, "Brother from the Same Planet," Homer of course forgets to pick up Bart from soccer practice, thus making Bart very mad. In his anger, Bart applies to a social service as an orphan and receives a "Big Brother" in return. When Homer finds out, Homer applies as a "Big Brother" just to spite Bart.

Overall, this is a good episode that certainly has a flair for the dramatic. I have never seen Homer as angry as we see him in this episode, so that was interesting to watch. It's also cool to see Homer participate in a fistfight and actually do something right in that fight. This is a solid episode. I rate this episode 9/10.

A wedge between Homer and Bart?

The episode begins with Homer forgetting to pick up Bart from soccer practice. That prompts Bart to give up on Homer, he becomes a little brother in a big brother type program to spite Homer. Phil Hartman plays Tom, his impossibly cool big brother.

Generally, I like a lot of Homer/Bart relationship episodes and this one has its moments. There are a lot of very funny sequences that arise as Homer attempts to get even.

The fight in the episode is extremely memorable. It's one I recalled after not seeing this episode for years. This really is a good Homer/Bart episode.

When Homer leaves Bart at soccer practice, forgetting to pick him up, Bart has had enough. He goes to a Big Brother type of place and is placed with an athletic all-American boy type. They do everything together. Homer is hurt and goes to the same place and mentors a little Hispanic kid. Meanwhile, Lisa has a phone addiction, wasting a lot of money on phone calls to some celebrity hunk. Decent episode.

Utterly hilarious. Another one for the ages.

One of the funniest episodes of the season, on par with Marge vs the Monorail. The gags are non-stop and features a lot of classic scenes. I was lucky enough to be brought up in the 90's so I got to see the best era of The Simpsons as it was released. And even though I've seen all these countless times, they still make me laugh. This episode is of no exception. If you didn't laugh, you either have no sense of humour or you're in a coma.

Simpsons peak

For me, the first 10 seasons are worth watching. I must have seen every episode of the first 10 seasons a least once, and this episode is no exception for sure. The one-liners run thick and fast, and dwells on the important aspect of father-son relationship.

Homer v Maverick

Homer and Bart's relationship is not going well.

This is a strong episode with some great character moments.

The best scenes for me come at the start in the build up to the father and son breakup. This is Homer at his most dense and hilariously disconnected. I also love the fight near the end.

Lisa has an amusing subplot too with her struggles with Corey addiction.
