A Wonderful TV show in Spain for fortean/mysterious subject matter
david-fernandez17 January 2016
The Spanish TV show is hosted by the excellent Iker Jiménez, I believe it was born out of a radio show in Spain. They cover all mysterious and strange events in depth some of them contemporary and some in the past. Not all the subjects they cover on their weekly show are paranormal, on one show they covered the nuclear fallout blunder in the early 70s in a central Madrid lab when General Franco gave the order to develop a nuclear weapon and they also covered the Armero Columbian volcano disaster with a nod to the chilling death of little girl Omayra Sánchez Garzón. They also cover aliens, spooks, ancient cultures, vampires etc so don't think it's all based on 100% factual events ! The format of the show is about 90% with Iker Jiménez who often invites experts and various other conspiracy theorists or mystery sleuths onto the show and often it's quite entertaining. Iker's wife often has a short slot on the show that gives a more graphic description of where and when strange things occurred. The show at the end has a nice solo round up by Iker who takes one theme (it maybe for example the importance of philosophy and how it relates to those old tales you were told as a kid and how that is more important than the vapid entertainment and gadgets we obsess over these days. A truly great show, roughly as popular as Arthur C Clarkes mysterious world was back on the BBC in the 80s - and oh gosh did I love that show also.
