A good mix of old and new

At first glance, this may sound like a copy of Season 2's "Gnomes". Think about it. It's about a big corporation coming into town and devastating the small businesses by taking over everything. However, everything else is different enough to give it a pass. Where Gnomes had the Harbucks plot line mixed in with the idea of the boys writing a report on a current event, Wall-mart is more about showing the actual effects that it has on the businesses. While this idea was brought up in Gnomes, it is given a bit more attention here, showing how people have completely stopped going to other places (even places with services that Wall-mart doesn't offer, like Tom's Rhinoplasty). Much of the comedy can be found in everybody freaking out over the discounts (and the boys' reactions to it) and what the boys are doing in this situation and how they are being affected by it. It also remembers that a signature of South Park is the commentaries on various issues, so like Gnomes it gives another well-made commentary on corporations. However this time, it is the complete opposite of Kyle's speech at the end of Gnomes. This is likely due to the fact the issue at hand actually has more of an effect on him this time (whereas last time they were just blindly following what Mr. Tweak and the Gnomes told him to say). Again, both these episodes are good on their own merits so it will depend on the person which they think is better.

Messed up episode!

Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes is a fairly interesting South Park episode. It has a strange plot which spoofs certain horror films and it is also like most newer SP episodes, good social commentary.THis episode has a Wal-Mart store opening in South Park. The store sucks people in with it's low prices, yet it is ruining the businesses of SOuth Park's original stores. The people decide not to shop at Wal-Mart anymore, yet the prices just suck them in.It's now up to Stan,Kyle and Kenny to find out how to destroy the wal-mart.Cartman really likes Wal-Mart so he does not want this to happen, so he tries to stop them.Cartman acts fairly evil in this episode. This is a great South Park episode and it's very entertaining and interesting.

The greatest episode about capitalism and consumerism

Warning: Spoilers
What a great episode!

Analyzing the consume culture in depth, and its affect on human lives. Everyone is fruiously happy about Walmart and its prices, and gets addicted to it quickly. However the kids who don't yet have enough money to buy everything unnecessary and have the moral compass try to investigate why things are happening in this order.

The multiple suicides of the WallMart staff is also hilarious and meaningful. The way they act mentally destoryed, anxious and scared is absoultely on spot. Corporate sucks your soul out without regretting it, because "It (the "mechanon")" has no soul, has no conscience.

The fact that this evil company has no leader is paralel with the modern life, that is like a plane without a pilot. This is the scariest about it.

Recommended watching after this masterpiece episode: The mist (2007) The corporation (2003)

10/10.

Rip-Off

Amazing that they could rip off the book by Bentley Little, The Store. I recommend both though. Very fun commentary on commercialism. Bite me, why does my review have to be 10 lines. Would recommend this to any South Park fan. Would recommend 'The Store' to any horror fans. Flossing is fun in a 50 shades of grey kind of way. Keep small children away from your glasses. If you see a person that is not handicapped park in handicapped parking space, moon them immediately. Baring mooning ability due to in climate weather or restrictive clothing, glare at them and make them feel uneasy. While spitting on them seems appropriate, it will most likely get you arrested.
