This episode was dedicated to Dana Reeve, who died three weeks before this episode was aired. The episode also ends with an encouragement to make donations in her memory to the Christopher Reeve Foundation. Dana reeves Died March 6 2006 of Lung Cancer.
This episode has two deleted scenes on the Season 5 DVD set. In the first, Simone persuades a police officer that she wasn't speeding. In the second, Lois berates Clark for cheating on Lana, but Clark calmly explains that he has fallen in love.
Lois describes Clark and Simone's encounter as the "Last Tango at the Talon", a reference to the 1972 Marlon Brando movie Last Tango in Paris, originally Rated X but reclassified as Rated NC-17.
At one point Clark bends a bat into the shape of an "S" and holds it in front of his chest - very reminiscent of Superman's "S" logo .
