I Do not Love You
claudio_carvalho7 July 2007
In Sierra de la Botija, Honduras, Central America, while collecting samples of a deadly virus in a quarantine zone, two men are attacked by Professor Milton Fine. In Smallville, Clark is hypnotized by the beautiful Simone and ends his relationship with Lana. Meanwhile, Lex travels to Honduras and has a meeting with Milton Fine. Lana with her broken heart, visits Lex.

In this important episode, Clark breaks with Lana and Professor Milton Fine returns in an evil partnership with Lex Luthor. Lana Lang, with her broken heart, gets closer to Lex and probably this association will harm Clark in the future. My vote is seven.

Poor Lana

Warning: Spoilers
Hard to watch this one. So many lies and deception. The back and forth brake ups between Clark and Lana feels like the creators were just milking the show.

Brutal

Brutal, brutal episode, in regard to the Clark & Lana relationship. First, the absolute tragedy twice over in "Reckoning," in regard to Lana and Clark, right when those two had reached the peak of joy. Now this; and again, hitting you twice. Ugh.

All through the series, I've thought Clark has treated Lana so well (not to mention his saving her life 40 times), and Lana has shown little gratefulness to Clark, and has been so quick to judge him, showing him so little patience.

But, this year, especially in the last 10 episodes, Lana's gone through so much for Clark (he died when things were going great), he pulled away and she broke up with him the day his dad died, yet she came back to him out of compassion. And he's given her no thanks. He pulls away more, and she keeps reassuring him "I love you so much" and "When you figure this out, I'll be here for you." What grace, kindness, and patience, while he was a dumbo who wouldn't just tell her his secret (she wouldn't die, as Jonathan already had fulfilled that prophecy)! Now, in this episode, he does her so wrong. He's wasted her time all these years. Cruel, while trying to do something for her good. But it's not for her good! It's in effect mean. Big mistake.

Motives, True Feelings and red-K Unveiled
Rcwilkinson12321 April 2008
Lex discreetly spies on Clark through a voluptuous blonde in a disappointing episode.

An easy-on-the-eyes young woman arrives to town, and with a blue necklace that contains red-K at its center, rocks Clark's world, turning an appalled Lana away from him for possibly the final time. Surprisingly, the woman called Simone was hired by Clark to see if Clark is unusual at all. Meanwhile, Lex is in Honduras trying to discover the whereabouts of Professor Milton Fine and a virus that may be spreading from a jet-black ship that the natives are abuzz about. Finally, when a conflicted Lana goes to Clark to ask what he was doing with Simone, he ends their second relationship by saying "I don't love you."

It's interesting to see how Lex truly is becoming a traitor of his former best friend, yet that act causes Lana to draw closer to him. His motives were the engine for this episode, both in Clark's situation and Lana's feelings. The development of Milton Fine returning is also interesting, but again disappointing to see the writers occasionally dissolve to sexual material to tell their story.
