Laura and Franco, an Italian couple, have gone through an acrimonious divorce; all is not well between them, even after living apart for a while. Their son Luca, a young boy loves to play soccer, but he is not as good as he should be because he freezes during crucial points in the game, resulting in the scorn of his team mates. Laura is protective of the Luca. Franco is a loving father, torn by not having his son for longer periods of time since Laura has custody.
Laura not having many skills, enters the world of phone sex, working in a place where people call to talk about their sexual fantasies with the women employed to keep these men entertained as well as hot and bothered. Laura is not too good at it. Sandra, her friendly co-worker, takes her under her wing. Soon, she begins receiving calls from a man named Angelo who seems to know a lot about her.n
Franco, who has been living with Chiara, a translator, seems to be doing quite well in his new relationship, but Luca seems to get between their cozy relationship. Luca begins an imaginary friendship with a boy, much like him, Tommy, who is just the opposite of him.

She thinks Angelo is out to get her, as her fear of being stalked by a criminal who wants to harm her makes her feel for her life and that of Luca. Sandra, who is house sitting for a wealthy family, invites Luca to stay with her. Clara, thinking Angelo is getting closer to her, decides to get to the bottom of the mystery, but things happen so fast that Luca decides to act, overcoming his own fears in an unexpected finale.
Directed by Angelo Longoni, this film could qualify for something out of the 'giallo' crime genre. It has all the elements going for it. It is also a psychological study about human's fears and how to deal with the problem. The film begins in a hospital where someone is being treated for what appears to be a serious illness, or maybe an accident. There is a surprising twist at the end of the film that puts things in its proper context.

Alesio Boni is also good as Franco, the man intent in getting custody of his beloved Luca, going to extremes in order to get him. Eleonora Ivone is perfect as Chiara, Franco's new love interest. Marco Ragno and his brother Andrea, are seen as Luca and Tommi, his alter ego.
