An outlaw father returns to see his young son.
kfo949417 December 2015
A wanted man, Jess Matson, has returned to his hometown to see his wife, Ellie and his young son Ted. But it will not be easy. The Federal Marshals are out in full force and standing guard around the town just waiting for Jess's appearance.

The Marshals will not expect any help from the local citizens. It seems that the townsfolk think of Metson as something like a hero. When Jess hides-out at the town stable it looks like there is no way of getting to see his wife and kid. But some of the women think of a plan where Ellie can visit Jess in the stable where they can talk. The talk will not be the most favorable as Jess wants to have Ellen and Ted to come away with him. Ellen is tired of the trouble that Jess brings and sick of the fact that Ted thinks his father is some kind of a hero.

When the Marshals finally have Jess cornered up in a canyon, his young boy Ted is determined to fight along side his father. Ted believes his father is an honorable man until proved otherwise.

Eddie Albert plays the outlaw and does a nice job in his part. Two other notable fact about this episode is that the young boy is played by Micky Nolenz which will later be a part of the musical group called the Monkees- and the episode is directed by actor David Nivens. A nice episode that made for a good watch.

A very interesting episode

Yes, this is s very interesting episode because: ONE it is directed by David Niven himself, the so British US actor, who offers here one of his ONLY two episodes - or even films - he ever made. and TWO because the ending is sooo unusual, unexpected for this series. I love this ending, so bitter. of course I won't spoil any further. Don't miss it.
