Jubilee Bursts onto the Screen! What a start!
injury-654476 June 2020
Been curious to watch this show as I like the idea of the X-men but I always found myself underwhelmed by the live action films. I heard this was a well regarded series. I wasn't disappointed by this first outing!

This is an incredibly action packed start to the show. It's never boring and is engaging from the outset. The pace is great without it becoming too fast to follow. It sets up what you need to know about Xavier and his mutants, and how the general population feels about mutants - but doesn't get bogged down in exposition. Also introduces a Mutant Control Agency.

The introduced mutants are all distinguishable And interesting characters With exciting powers. Storm stands out as some kind of mythical goddess like character. Beast is adorable as the erudite and sophisticated muscle man. Gambit is charming as the Louisiana ladies man. Wolverine is fierce as the lone and aloof warrior. Cyclops is annoyingly goody two shoes. Rogue is the misunderstood power sapper. I can already imagine episodes focusing on any particular mutant to be interesting ones.

I think it's interesting to take a character like Jubilee and give this relatively unknown (or somewhat joke) mutant a starring central role like this. It allows us to enter this new world through the eyes of an untrained newbie. I don't know if she'll remain the focus throughout the series though.

The aesthetic was great - I love Jubilee's outfit and the other costumes.

Poor Chuckling Morph didn't get A title credit - uh oh, surely that can only mean he's not long for this series?

I'm excited for more. What a great start to the series.

Interesting Beginning

Warning: Spoilers
The series starter begins with Jubliee and a little bit about her story from her start out in a foster home and how she joins the X-Men. The way the X-Men are introduced is different because you see Rogue and Storm in there "human" ways at a mall as the Sentinels are after Jubliee for a "project". Your are introduced to Gyrick and Trask showing them to be the inventors of "pogressive" hate towards mutants. It is a great opener and it starts to get you hooked onto X-Men. The movies that have just come out starring Hugh Jackson, Halle Berry and Etc. Do not truly show the beginning of the X-Men just the short version of shoving it all together to be viewed. To truly understand you need to see the original cartoons in order to see what it is all about.

What an intro

This was definitely good enough to be picked up! Best first episode out of all the X-men animated series so far.

Lot of action and rewatching it now is not bad at all. It's definitely a product of it's time, but all the action and great voice acting makes this stand out so well.
