G-G-G-Ghost Pirates!

While this is definitely a great episode, I don't think it's fair to elevate it so far above the other great episodes from Season 1 of Venture Bros. It's obviously a fan favourite though and has hit the right buttons with people.

It is funnier and cleverer than I remembered, upon rewatch.

This episode further cements Venture Bros as Truly one Of the funniest and best cartoons ever made, in my opinion. The consistency of quality with first season episodes is staggering. The vision and execution is near perfection.

The scene with Brock's superhuman clenching abilities is fantastic.

Love the Dr Orpheus cameo - who better to deal with a mournful spirit.

A Classic

What would happen if the perfect cartoon were produced? It has been--by the Venture Bros. team.

Ghosts of the Sargasso pushes all the right culturally relevant buttons: Pop music, cartoon, science, mystery and just plain goofy references abound.

Where else could you find Bowie lyrics, hints of Scooby Doo, and Rainbow Brite tattoos in the same place? For the true sadist/fetishist, the obligatory urine and anal probing are included.

Like most great entertainment, this multi-layered onion reveals more with each viewing.
