pride comes before a fall
mufdivtwo22 August 2006
i watched this particular episode this morning and i throughly enjoyed. i think the moral of the story was certainly based on the proverb that states that 'pride comes before a fall'

in this case the pride of the bellamy household was humbled when they were to be evicted from the stately '165 Eaton place'

luckily for the bellamy household they were saved from their fate by a Jewish gentleman who was seeing their daughter lady Elizabeth bellamy. they at first were horrified at the thought of their daughter being associated with a Jewish man but when that man saved them from being evicted they were surprised but very grateful. i think it was a very moving episode.

The Bellamy's may have to leave Eaton Place!
arrival28 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Elizabeth is given a Hat Shop by her lover, Julius. As a result, her secret relationship with him is revealed to her parents. Though unforeseen initially, this has its uses for the Bellamy's when they are about to be 'evicted' from their home at Eaton Place, and he comes to the rescue! Julius purchases 165, and gives it to Elizabeth as a gift. She in turn then gives it back to her parents, thus making up for all her wrong-doing and misdemeanours, and Julius 'acceptable' in their circle.

As if it isn't embarrassing enough for Lady Marjorie to contemplate the prospect of having to live in 'Kensington'; her past and affair with Captain Charles Hammond comes back to haunt her once again...
