I want you NOW!
lastliberal4 October 2007
I have been spending my nights enjoying repeats of this show, and this one is one of the best I have seen.

Obviously, Charlies has not heard the old saying about "a woman scorned." Take the incredibly hot Heather Locklear playing a high priced lawyer, and you would be doubly cautious about scoring her.

Yeas, i can understand wanting Alana De La Garza, who must have been going to law school in her spare time as she later ends up as an Assistant District Attorney on "Law and Order," but Charlie, you just have to work something out so as not to offend Heather.

One of the best episodes of the show.

The hazards of the blackmail
salgonjulien4230 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
It twenty-first episodes of the first season is an episode of classic good behavior that does not distinguish itself by its originality. He(it) is served well by the dialogs always so incisive and by the cynical side of the situation. Furthermore, we are entitled has an interesting guest star: Heather Locklear who plays a corrupt lawyer who uses(wears out) blackmail. Once again it is the attitude removed inhibitions by Charlie and his(her, its) particular lifestyle which(who) bring felt(smelt) good funny situations. This politically incorrect episode is situated little near in the average of this season which distinguishes itself by its regularity and which managed skillfully to avoid the too heavy repetitions(rehearsals) even if the themes of the episodes stay the same. Besides we are entitled has the good end which leans on a hackneyed but always effective gag.

Writers haven't been to law school
shawn-irvine10 February 2014
I love any episode of Two and a Half Men where Charlie's misadventures cause drama and pain for Alan (A sack full of Jawea is hilarious in this respect) but this episode really pushes the boundaries of credulity.

Laura sleeping with Charlie is not unethical. However, her actions in the mediation are, where she completely sells Alan out over the property settlement. Such actions in fact constitute legal malpractice, as she is acting without instructions and not in the best interests of her client.

So while Alan may be disgruntled that his case has been delayed, he wouldn't have had to pay a cent to Laura or her firm.

STUPID AND UNFUNNY EPISODE
rms125a24 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Heather Locklear, here, in full "Melrose Place"-style divahood, plays an unethical and irrational lawyer apparently incapable of any self-control or common sense. Perhaps another actress could have carried it off but Locklear is just sleazy and cold. (Charlie says, with just cause, at their first meeting, after his attempts at flirting with her are shot down, "didn't the Titanic run into her?") Still, the actress was evidently doing what the writers wrote and the director directed but she is nowhere near funny enough (Spin City or no Spin City) or appealing enough for the ridiculous plot to be swallowed by the viewer (at least this viewer). It's all heavy lifting. Sorry to dump on Locklear but she is the one who comes off worst.

Possibly, better writing would have made this a genuinely funny episode rather than one whose second half is filled with "ech" moments but I doubt anyone could spin this dross as written into comedy gold. Yuck.

A decline in quality towards the end of series 1
studioAT31 March 2017
On the whole the first series of 'Two and a Half Men' was solid and entertaining, but I felt it lost its quality towards the end of the 24 episodes.

This is a good example of that. It doesn't completely tank like the previous one that had no proper ending, but it does feature a plot that goes nowhere fast.

It's hard to keep the quality up, especially when you're still really getting to know the characters, but this episode, like some of the others at the end of this series are weaker.

Overall, not bad, but not at the high standards the show had set previously.
