a more action packed episode of Peaks
framptonhollis14 October 2017
After an episode full of filler, Twin Peaks sets itself into high gear with this glorious, entertaining, and tense series of essential and fun moments. It perfectly balances the show's weird comedy with its soapy drama and eye gluing mystery while also including some sequences akin to the best of James Bond as Cooper and Sheriff Truman raid One Eyed Jacks in a wild climactic scene that feels like some kind of surrealist comic book. Before this entertaining final showdown are plenty of important and engaging little moments, everything from Leland's court case (that is made surreal thanks to its setting being the Roadhouse, hardly the place for a court case) to Donna's erotic, mesmerizing, and uniquely disturbing girlhood story is riveting and strange to the very core. All in all, this is one of the second season's most successful and perfectly balanced episodes.

'The woods are wondrous here... but strange'

Warning: Spoilers
This episode opens humorously with somebody demonstrating a rather dangerous looking medical winch to Shelly and Bobby and ends with the exciting rescue of Audrey Horne from One Eyed Jacks; in between those two events plenty happens; Andy gets the results of his sperm test back but gets a shock when he calls Lucy; Donna starts talking to agoraphobic Harold in an attempt to get Laura's diary; and Leland is given bail and Leo is found unfit for trial.

This episode was a lot of fun with both humour and the most excitement we've seen for a time; the raid on One Eyed Jacks was pretty exciting; I was a little surprised that Cooper punched a woman although to be fair it was in self defence! Kyle MacLachlan continues to do well in the role of Cooper and Michael Ontkean does well as the Sheriff; they make a good partnership despite, or perhaps because of, their very different styles.

Warning: Spoilers
There was some really great tension for the simultaneous events of the One Eyed Jacks raid trying to retrieve Laura's diary. The raid was especially great because we haven't really seen Cooper or Harry do anything like that so far. It turns out that Cooper is also great at combat. I don't think there's anything the man isn't good at. With each passing episode, we see more and more just how much of a weirdo Harold is. Maybe it's not his fault because he appears to have some kind of hypersensitivity to sunlight, but either way he is very very strange. The final scene was enough to prove that if nothing else. Nadine is also a massive weirdo, by no fault of her own. I know what happens with her plot and we saw the first of it this episode. Let's just say I'm not looking forward to seeing how that one pans out. Overall this episode just had some nice moments, such as Donna's speech about the first time she fell in love. Overall good episode

Harold and Audrey
Hitchcoc8 June 2017
We have two significant sets of events. The first is the plan and execution of the plot to rescue Audrey. While doing some yoga, Cooper finally sees the note Audrey left him the night she went to the One Eyed Jack, which gives him a leg up on his efforts to invade the den of iniquity. While all this is happening, Donna and Maddy hatch a plan to steal the diary Laura wrote which is being held by Harold, the spooky orchid grower. This is probably the most violent of all the episodes so far, with a few bodies left behind. We also have a couple court scenes with Leland pleading not guilty and Shelley having to take Leo back to her home. She looks at him living for an eternity and not being able to collect insurance. The episode concludes with some really great action and another unanswered set of questions.

'Twin Peaks' continues to be as creepy and seductive as ever

Another excellent step up from the show. A major plot gets satisfactory resolved while everything that makes the show brilliant still present. Wonderfully crafted and impeccably acted.

I keep watching it for the quirky atmosphere

Warning: Spoilers
The bar is converted into a courtroom and it was hilarious. It's a nice episode without the idiotic girl at the precinct. They try to bring Audrey back (she's been held hostage). They try to steal Laura's diary from the agoraphobic guy. Nadine is back home and she thinks she's a teenager.

The stealing of a Book
AvionPrince1619 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Cooper finally save Audrey without getting dead or in danger. Donna will try to have the diary but things will not happen as predicted and the guy will hurt himself. And in trial of Leland they will try to verify if he is guilty or not.

An interesting episode with some nice discovery from Cooper about the location of Audrey. The tension during Donna tried to steal with her friend the diary of Laura Palmer. Cooper when he will try to escape with Audrey was pretty tense and dangerous. Need to see more about what will happened to Audrey and how Cooper will escape the death threat arround him? Need to see more.
