Hmmmm I dunno it's really starting to lose me. It's like before, all the nonsensical stuff made sense in a weird sorta way. Now, everything is just a bit nonsensical full stop. Like Leo coming back just felt a bit dumb, and the slasher standoff thing at the start of the episode was just meh. Ben and his American civil war replaying is really tedious now, and James is just James. The thing about him is that he's an incredibly bland character. He's supposed to be, and it worked so well before because what he was doing related to the main plot and he was always with other not so bland characters. It made James's blandness really funny. When you give him his own storyline, and make him interact with another bland character then guess what, it's probably going to be quite bland. I couldn't care less about his stay out west; developing a bland character is a noble endeavour but it just won't work. This stuff with Windom Earle is also not all that exciting. I think that there was all too sudden a jump from a simple game of chess to murders and insanity etc. Also, it's just not as interesting as the previous story. The main thing intriguing me is the stuff about the White Lodge, which is currently moving slower than snail pace. The current rate is, every episode is getting slowly more and more tedious, so I hope the story can get more interesting soon

Leo, Meet Wyndom
Hitchcoc16 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Several issues. First and foremost is the return of the brain dead (we thought) Leo. He surprises Shelley and tries to kill her with an axe. We are also introduced to Windom who is out of prison and not the trail of Cooper. Garland comes into the station and spills his guts (but has no strong memories he can bank on). The boys suspect little Nicky of killing his parents, but facts refuting that are produced. However, there are some questions that need answering. There is also a return from the dead (at least it appears that way). This is a fascinating episode because it makes Cooper all the more interesting.

The truth about Nicky
AvionPrince1624 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So we know more about that kid Nicky and how he is in fact a hero. Leo almost killed his wife and will get lost in the forest and meet Windom Earle. We will know more about Windom with Cooper who will let us know that he lost his mind and think that is Cooper who killed his wife. So the interest is getting back and we know that sooner or later the confrontation will arrive. James will try to run away and will understand that Mrs Marsh tricked him to kill her husband. We see also some funny moments with Horne and the old man who want to revenge his dead friend and will now want a baby with the woman who he accused of the murder: that scenes really make us relax and laugh and get a little bit off topics of the movie main focus but thats great and i found them interesting anyway even if it dont bring anything in the story or in the narrative or repercussion on our characters. I enjoyed it anyway and the appearence of Windom will get more interest to see how it will end between Cooper and Windom. Need to see more.

Windom Earle starts to play a game
Tweekums3 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After the double shock of learning that Leo has awakened from his coma and the discovery of the body in the police station in the previous episode we get to see what happens next in each case. Leo attempts to kill his wife Shelly and she only survives because Bobby returns. In the police station Cooper states that the killer is his former partner Windom Earle; he later confides to Sheriff Truman that he had had an affair with Earle's wife and that she had been killed in an identical manner. Cooper also believes that the chess board in front of the victim suggests that Earle is intent on playing a deadly game! Else were it looks as though Evelyn has used James in order to get rid of her husband and Hank has been sent back to prison for a parole violation.

This episode gets off to a great start; I really thought Leo was going to kill Shelly; Eric DaRe and Mädchen Amick put in particularly fine performances in this tense scene. The introduction of the Windom Earle storyline was well handled and it was a bit of a surprise to learn that Cooper had had an affair with his partner's wife; not only does it give Earle a motive but it also adds to Cooper's character. Sadly with Cooper having been cleared DEA Agent Denise Bryson appears to have left the show; this is a pity as he was a rather entertaining character. Once again we get an episode with a gripping ending that leads the viewer keen to see what happens next; this time Leo meets Windom; it will be interesting to see what happens now these two dangerous characters have met.
