When DeCruz, Farwell and Brooks awake from suspended animation in 2061, they discover that Erbie is no more than a skeleton as a falling rock cracked his chamber. This is reminiscent of the scene in Planet of the Apes (1968) in which Taylor, Dodge and Landon discover the desiccated corpse of their fellow astronaut Stewart in her stasis pod, which malfunctioned and caused the air to leak. Like this episode, the initial drafts of the film were written by Rod Serling.

The music was later re-recorded for use in the CBS stock music library. It appeared in several installments of "The Twilight Zone."
