When the cowboy is saying he must have struck the dog "along side the head", the camera changes to a shot of the dog lying in the street and he can be seen to move and breathe even though he's supposed to be dead.
When the ensemble is in the street after the dog's resurrection, someone says, "...look in the rear view mirror", which were on automobiles, not animal drawn wagons or riders of animals.
