The best since the pilot

"Star Crossed" is, IMO, the best episode of "Tru Calling" since the pilot. There are several reasons for that, but I will agree with another comment that the most important one is the sensitive, sweet, non-judgmental depiction of - SPOILERS - the lesbian relationship that turns the story from "Romeo and Juliet" to "Juliet and Juliet". I was really impressed by the way a "glossy" TV series dealt with that topic. Beyond that, this episode is beautifully done all around, with well-thought-out little clues (the necklace!), constant twists in the mystery plot, honest acting by all the guest stars which helps you see the story from all their different perspectives, and fun love/hate chemistry between Harrison and Lindsay. A winner. ***1/2 out of 4.

Grease meets Quantum Leap.

This is well written and kept me guessing till the very end. Two young people are brought into the morgue after their bodies are pulled from a wreck at the bottom of a cliff. Tru decides to go undercover and discovers that the two did not know each other. That effectively dismisses the lover's suicide theory.

After a particularly dangerous race Tru discovers a gay relationship between one victim and the girlfriend of a popular student. A dangerous stunt late at night was the real reason for the original deaths. Only this time Tru is on hand to save the day.

This episode has a number of recycled story-lines to give it a predictable feel. However, there is some good acting and the surprising ending kept me there till the end.

Not bad. Not great ... but not bad.

Brilliant! (SPOILERS)

Warning: Spoilers
This is by far my favourite episode of Tru Calling. I watch it all the time. This is due mainly to the wonderful work done by Rachael Bella (Jen) and Melissa Lee (Amy). Both of them are simply amazing as two young women in love. They are sweet and affectionate together, and are a joy to watch. The scene where Amy gives Jen the necklace in particular is delightful. It doesn't hurt that Rachael Bella is one of my favourite actresses and this is the first role I saw her in. It's a shame that they don't have more scenes. Still, they do an excellent job of providing depth and characterization given the limited time they have. For example, Jen's wry, ironic comments when she talks to Tru.

What I adore is that it doesn't go with the usual clichés about gays/lesbians that most shows do. By the end of the episode, both Jen and Amy are alive and well and in each other's arms. It is also good because the truth about their relationship is what actually prevents a tragedy from occurring.

There are some problems to be honest. One scene that infuriates me is when Luc asks Tru how can she still be single. Gee, maybe she WANTED to be single, ever think of that, Luc? I hate it when people seem to think that a woman can't be happy or content unless she's in a relationship. Tru's apparent cynicism at the end also bothers me. There are also some plot holes (e.g. where was Amy in the original timeline?) but these flaws don't really detract from an otherwise great episode.
