A crazy ride
gridoon202418 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
It's a shame that Doris Egan only got to write two "Tru Calling" episodes ("Two Pair" and "Grace"), because they are both among the series' best. Of course one of the main twists of "Grace" - the rewind-within-a-rewind - had already been used, even more extensively, in "The Longest Day", but the script is still inventive in many ways (apparently even a moment of "nodding off" can become a starting point for Tru's day), and there is also the welcome return of the whodunit clues (DSM3) that had gone missing from the last few episodes. There are no slow moments here, and the climactic sequence that sees nearly all the important (regular and guest) characters crossing paths at a crowded place is particularly suspenseful and well-done. *** out of 4.

Tru is framed for murder!
bethwilliam1 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
When psychiatrist Thomas Burell turns up in the morgue Tru must prevent his murder at the hand of a patient. Unfortunately Jack Harper has hatched an evil plan to have our hero framed by planting incriminating evidence in the doc's files.

Jack's plan is to have Tru sent away for life rather than kill her and see her abilities transferred to another. When Tru tries to meet with the corpse her efforts are thwarted by the police.

A "lucky break" occurs when the murderer turns his gun on policewoman Gomez who promptly sends Tru on a second rewind.

This is an excellent episode and well written.
