Election Day
scottsetchell21 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It's election day in Sunnyvale, Jim Lahey vs. Sam Losco for trailer park supervisor. Lahey started drinking heavily when Randy quit and the park has gotten away from him. Sam lost his practice as a veterinarian when Ricky went to jail and told them Sam stitched him up when he got shot twice in the same day. He lives in a camper in the trailer park and decides to run against Lahey in the election.

Ricky finds an old airstream trailer that's perfect for growing dope. The only problem is it's owned by Lahey. They go to visit Lahey and Julian promises to break Randy and Lucy up in exchange for the airstream. Lahey signs the agreement, now he needs to win the election.

Barb Lahey, Jim's ex-wife and owner of Sunnyvale visits Sam in his camper and likes what she hears. Julian gets Cory and Trevor to clean Lahey up and he asks J-Roc to get him some shrooms. They get Channel 10 Local News to come down and cover the election live.

Lahey is caught drinking and driving right before the election. Julian slips the shrooms in Sam's hotdog. When he goes up to make his speech, they kick in and he loses his focus. They convince George Green to let Lahey give his speech before he's taken into town. He sees Randy came to support him and gives an incredibly heartwarming speech to win the park over, despite his recent drunken behavior. Randy congratulates him and Lahey promotes him to weekend trailer park supervisor. Jim Lahey wins the election and Randy is back on the job.

This is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series. At the beginning, Lahey can barely stand up he's so drunk, and everyone in the park is sick of him. By the end, we see he's going through a rough time with the people he loves and he really does care about the community. Julian realizes when Randy and Lahey aren't together the park falls apart. Jim Lahey's election speech is one of the most relatable and memorable moments in the show.
