Crazy plot

Warning: Spoilers
This episode's plot is pretty bonkers but Adrian Paul steals the show, as usual. The show starts with a murder. The very next scene, Cole is on trial. (Only later we discover he's accused of killing the guy who was shot a minute earlier.) This was so confusing, I thought I missed an episode. I even went back and rewatched the end of the previous episode to be sure if I missed something. I didn't. It's like the producers said "Why waste time and money shooting the part where there's a crime and Cole's arrested? We don't need it! Jump to the good part!" It's crazy.

That said, I swear Cole's alter ego was called Tony Monana several times at the start of the show, instead of Troy. The judge is named Harriet Chapin, so a I guess someone was having fun naming characters. Add in the burnt out lawyer plot line. No wonder the poor character was confused - one second Mel was insisting the wrong guy was in prison. The next second she's told him it's the real Troy. No one notices the prisoner's accent changed? Dean McDermott's early involvement just vanishes from the story. Same with Patrick Garrow, the crooked defense lawyer. So he just doesn't care that he's out $25k? It's like the writers stopped caring or got really high or both. Or maybe half the script was randomly cut at the last second because it was too long.

Loved Adrian Paul doing the Cockney accent and his crazy, tacky clothes as Troy (Tony?). Really showcased his talent, easily switching between the two different characters. Wish he got more credit as an actor. He was really funny this episode too - "Not the face!" I don't get why he was never more successful. In the end, the plot was a chaotic mess, but Cole/Troy were so enjoyable, you're smiling anyway.
