Bosco is a dick.

The show opens to one of my favourite tunes from Fatboy Slim, two cops in pursuit of a kid, the guy cop throws himself out of the car to run after him while his female partner objects. The beat of the music is amazing, and the chase is unforgettable, as I have seen this episode before, when it played in reruns a few years back. The young cop is hot on the tail of his prey when the kid dashes into the back seat of another cruiser. The door is slammed shut by a hefty officer, grinning at the young cop. This is how we first meet hot headed Bosco, calm and seasoned Sully, and the even tempered Yokas.

This first episode is an action packed opener to a great series. We are introduced to characters made from whole cloth, Kim, Bobby, Jimmy, Doc, Nieto, Ty and a parade of personalities that all lend an air of authenticity.

Great story telling, good humour (peanut butter, anyone?), good relationships, competition and genuine emotions. The quality of the show stayed consistent throughout its original run. And now I get to see it again.
