The great Roy Kinnear who was younger than both Hattie Jacques and Eric Sykes appears as their uncle.
He has bought a tuxedo for Eric to wear in a stag do being held at an exclusive golf club. It is something uncle picked up from the jumble sale.
Eric is a guest of Charles Brown but he has not been informed that it was an informal do.
Eric causes chaos as his bow tie falls into the punch bowl and the sleeves of his shirt falls out.
Charles Brown is so embarrassed but then Eric tells him that he got the suit from his uncle, Lord Hetherington who originally had the suit made for him.
Charles Brown is excited and wants to see Lord Hetherington. Later Eric ends up passing his drunk uncle as the aristocrat.
John Le Mesurier plays the urbane Lord Hetherington who drops in to see Eric to thank him for returning some money.
Look out for Lennard Pearce as the posh golf club member. He was better known as Grandad in Only Fools and Horses.
