Warning: Spoilers
I've watched this episode a few times now and I don't quite know what to think of it. Starsky and Hutch are undercover to get a big drug kingpin. They are in rather flamboyant outfits, but no one seems to find them to be too unusual. They negotiate for bigger and bigger drug buys, in order to draw the headman out to meet with them. Their actions seem to scream "we are undercover cops" to me, but no one seems that suspicious. Well, there is suspicions, but no one follows up or digs any deeper, so Starsky and Hutch keep pushing it. They finally offer the kingpin a rare stamp as a good faith gift if he will meet with them. I wouldn't think that a big-time criminal got to the top of the heap by being so gullible.

It's not a bad episode, but it doesn't have any great scenes or much to make it that memorable. This is probably why I have to keep watching it in order to figure out how to rate it. But it's always a pleasure to watch PMG and DS play Starsky and Hutch in Season 1, so I won't complain too much.

Warning: Spoilers
To me, this is one of the early highlights of the show.

While some episodes after the pilot showed a lot of potential (Texas Longhorn, the episode about the daughter of the gangster boss), but fell a bit flat/didn't use their full potential, I always liked this episode because it's so full of action, fun and an intriguing story. You could have turned this one in a made for tv movie basically.

I do like the whole "going undercover" bit. It's fun to see the guys being "gangsters", yet they look out for the girl.

We have 3-4 good bad guys who all get to have their part. We have Huggy Bear. Dobey. I can't think of anything that's missing. I also liked how the place where Connie lived seemed to be one of those places they described where they had girls selling themselves for a fix. It's sad, but this touch of reality made it more authentic.

All in all, I am surprised they could fit it all into just 45 mins. One of my favorite episodes of season 1 with Jojo and A coffin for Starsky!
