I guess since Huggy Bear and the Turkey from Season 2 was such a flop, someone must have decided to take another stab at featuring Huggy in a different style. So instead of being given a comic set-up with lots of gags and silliness, this time we have a tough Huggy tracking down bad guys who stole money from his old mentor-in-crime. It didn't really matter, because this doesn't work any better than the first time they tried it.
Huggy makes a good informant. He doesn't make a good detective, or tough guy, or criminal. Huggy swinging a pipe at someone and threatening to break his head? Nope, doesn't play. Huggy is a lover, not a fighter. I think he might even have said that very phrase himself somewhere along the course of this series.
It was a better effort than Huggy Bear and the Turkey, but only because that one was so awful. And the magic that PMG and DS could bring to the show in Season 2 is no longer present here in Season 4. There is a little bit left, but not much. I wish I knew where it went and who took it.
