Christopher Judge and the writers made a mutual decision to reduce Teal'c's camera time, because of Judge's extreme difficulty in keeping a straight face around Dom DeLuise when cameras were rolling, largely due to DeLuise's constant ad-libbing and cracking jokes on and off set. As a result, many of Teal'c's lines were either removed or given to other members of the cast.
The younger, more handsome version of Urgo is played by the actor's son, Peter DeLuise, who directed this episode.
Dom DeLuise (Urgo) is father of episode director and fellow guest cast member Peter DeLuise (Young Urgo). Dom's other sons, Michael DeLuise and David DeLuise, also appeared in episodes of Stargate SG-1.
When asked what Urgo looks like, O'Neill Responds "A famous Tenor," which is a reference to Dom DeLuise's resemblance to Luciano Pavarotti.
