The bit of Ancient Text that appears on Daniel Jackson's computer says: "ACTUAL WORDS ARE HARD TO DECIPH SO THISLL WORK"
Several cameos occur quickly in the scene at the playground with Lt. Col. Samantha Carter and Pete Shanahan (about 8:00 into the episode). As they walk away from the hot dog stand, the man walking up carrying a child is Peter DeLuise, writer and director of the episode. The child is DJ, son of executive producer Michael Greenburg. Just seconds later, the woman waving behind the slide is Nikki Smook (Michael Greenburg's wife) and the woman in the red coat is Amanda Tapping's mother.
The warehouse where Dr. Jackson and Krista were being held by the Trust has the name Westminster Tank and Boiler Co. on the outside. This is a real company located in Burnaby, BC, Canada.
Erica Durance and Michael Shanks would both go on to co-star in the CTV paranormal drama Saving Hope (2012) and also both appear in Smallville (2001).
In the first minute of the episode, there is a collision. The "thugs'" car rear-ends the other car. While there is a fair amount of subsequent discussion about whether one car was signaling for a stop to park or the other car was tailgating, both questions are legally irrelevant. In the United States, in the event of a rear-end collision, the second car is always assumed to be at fault on the premise that the driver of the second car should have kept enough distance to the car in front to see an impending hazard and have time to react safely. In other words, the second car is assumed to have been tailgating.
