Malcom says "The container is made of titanium steel, it's several feet thick. You can run an express train into it, the train will end up in the scrapyard." A nuclear flask was tested in 1984 by doing just that - crashing a train into it at 100 miles per hour. Apart from some slight bends to the cooling fins the flask was undamaged, but the remains of the train were scrapped on site.
