I've seen all Christmas episodes
ericstevenson29 June 2018
The first six seasons of "South Park" are all said to have Christmas episodes with Mr. Hankey in them. That technically isn't true, because while Mr. Hankey is certainly alluded to in this episode, he doesn't actually appear. That's actually a great subplot as it features a mall Mr. Hankey being unmasked by the boys. You have to admit it's pretty funny to see little kids fight police officers. This episode introduces us to Cartman's further family members. Well, they don't appear later.

They're mostly fat and talk just like him and it's as funny as it sounds. I found another grey alien. When Charles Manson is driving the kids away from the police, the tattoo on his forehead changes from a happy face to an alien. Okay, it isn't an alien technically physically appearing, but you get the idea. It's weird watching this now that Charles Manson has died. It was heartwarming in a weird way to see him portrayed here like this. ***1/2

Merry Christmas Charlie Manson! (#2.16)

Warning: Spoilers
Ah yes, a great Christmas episode that shows us the real Christmas meaning and brings a lot of fun ideas.

The most I liked to see a house of Cartmans. Was just hilarious. All those characters that are so much like the annoying boy that Cartman is, this brings a lot of hilarious moments and scenes.

It is also a great and original idea to bring Charlie Manson for the Christmas time. He is the one who suddenly becomes good (we can see it by the change of the tattoo on his head) and tells everyone what the Christmas and family is all about. A pretty good idea with a positive message for people

Really Charlie?

I've always liked this episode a lot even though it's nothing too special. It's great, it's not extremely funny or eventful but I think the obvious appeal is Charlie himself, and seeing Cartman's family is just kind of weird but not in a bad way. 8.3.

Hilarious! Another great Christmas episode!

Merry Christmas Charlie Manson is the season 2 Christmas episode of South Park.In my opinion, this one was a bit better than the previous Christmas episode. This one is simply hilarious! Cartman & friends go with his mom to Nebraska to see Cartman's family.Stan's parents didn't want him to go but he sneaks out anyway and is angry with his parents and claims that they are dead! Cartman's family members share some of the same characteristics as Cartman. They are all fat and yell at their animals when the animals ask for food.Meanwhile, Cartman's uncle escapes prison with his cellmate Charlie Manson. The boys find that Mr Hankey(who is now famous) is appearing at the mall so the boys go see him, they then realize that he is a fake mr hankey and start a riot. The cops eventually find Manson and follow him back to the Cartman house where a standoff ensues. In the midst of all the chaos, Manson finds the true meaning of Christmas! This is a very good episode and has some hilarious moments!

A Cartman Family Christmas.
ExplorerDS678922 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
We open with Stan's mother vehemently protesting his wanting to go to Nebraska with his friends and Cartman. It's unclear why Sharon doesn't want him to go and this scene is over-the-top, but it leads to Stan deciding to run away and join his companions anyway. The drive from Colorado to Nebrasks would be a good 7 hours, which felt like 7 years, especially when Cartman and his mom sang, badly. Finally, they arrive in the state of Nebraska, which is a dry, desaturated dust bowl with wheat fields as far as the eye can see. So the boys all arrive at the Cartman residence and the whole family talks and acts exactly like Eric, all except his mom whom I guess is the Marilyn Munster of the group. That night, the boys are awakened by an intruder. It's Uncle Howard, having just busted out of the state Penn. He brought a friend: Charlie Manson, convicted murderer. This will be quite a Christmas. The next day, Kyle is anxious to go to the mall to see Mr. Hankey, but nobody in the family can be bothered to drive them, except for Charlie, who's eager to get out among the living again. So at the mall, Charlie amuses himself by watching The Grinchie Poo and becoming emotional, while the boys meet "Mr. Hankey", or a man in a Mr. Hankey costume. A riot ensues when the man in the poop costume says Mr. Hankey isn't real. Mall security recognizes Charlie Manson, as he and the boys book it. A car chase ensues, the police opening fire, but all Kyle can think about is being lied to.

They return to the house and barricade themselves in. It's at this point that Stan's parents find out their son not only ran away to Nebraska, but lied and said they were dead, so they head off to the Cornhusker State and join the police outside the house. Howard wants to make a break for it, but Charlie has had a real change of heart since being on the run. He convinces Stan that his parents do love him, despite being angry at him, and wants to turn himself in to the law, so he sends Kenny out with a white flag. The trigger-happy cops misinterpret the gesture and shoot him dead. Howard and Charlie are arrested, but the latter is more than willing to go back to prison. He felt as though he were in his own Christmas special, and he reminds everybody not to let things get them down over the holidays. So that night, as Charlie sleeps in his prison cell, he receives a throng of special visitors: the boys and the Cartman family, who wish Charlie Manson a merry Christmas.

Another great South Park Christmas episode. It has a good message, and it comes from Charles Manson of all people. I do like how they made him the voice of reason in all this mess. And even though it was all played for laughs, it was absurd how Stan's mother was so against him going to Nebraska. It wasn't like he was going alone, there were adults there... or 8-year-old boys trapped in adult bodies. It just shows how parents can be too overprotective of their children, and in contrast is Cartman's family who don't seem to care about what he does. This Christmas, I recommend Merry Christmas, Charlie Manson. It's fun, it's funny, it has a good message and it's spoofs of Christmas movies were pretty amusing, like that vulgar version of It's a Wonderful Life...which South Park has yet to do a full-on spoof of, and thank God for that.

Meet the Cartmans. Merry f****** Christmas!
RainDogJr25 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Great Christmas special, first is all about meeting the Cartmans since the boys will join Eric and his mother in their trip to Nebraska for Christmas. Basically Kyle and Kenny has no problem (Kenny was told to bring home the left turkey) but Stan is going to Nebraska without the permission of his mother. But anyway, after a very long and painful trip (check the amazingly bizarre change of the landscape when they arrive to Nebraska) finally the boys meet the Cartmans and Eric has finally his Christmas present. Is just hilarious the family of Cartman (Elvin kick ass!) but to be inside a house full of Cartmans is like a nightmare for the boys and to get things worse Howard the uncle of Cartman escaped from prison and now is hiding at the basement of the house, where the boys were, together with a partner: Charles Manson. Is great because when Charles Manson offers himself to drive the boys to the mall to see Mr. Hankey (who is now all famous) Kenny and Manson will certainly be together so you imagine the worst that is also the obvious however Manson will feel the spirit of Christmas in this episode, he will finally regret for all the families he destroyed and he will not fight in order to be outside the prison since he knows he just deserves to be locked up and Kenny will be killed by the police. This is a really funny Christmas episode, Stan will learn his lesson and everybody will sing with Manson. Today I decided to enjoy it again after many years without watching it and I'm glad I did it, I loved it.

Really Charlie
RicketyCricketImposter23 December 2021
This episode has always been one of my favorites, though it's not incredible, but just really fun for me. I think Charlie being in the episode really elevates it, and if he wasn't I'm not sure how much I would like it, but gosh darn it I do. 8.3.
