Young Blades Bite Deep
Dan1863Sickles9 November 2009
Early on, the South Park boys counted on highly-familiar characters, yanked whole cloth out of classic films. In this episode, Damien from the OMEN is the new kid in school, and uses his Satanic powers to get acceptance and fit in with the other kids.

Look beneath the surface, and you see a lot of grim truth about childhood in this early episode. Damien is only accepted by the gang after he begins to slap Pip around. Pip is a good kid who genuinely wants to belong, but the adults in the community don't care what happens to him or how he feels inside. Every time he gets picked on, Mr. Mackey tells him, "just take it . . . m'kay? Just be totally passive." My father was just the same way, and I'm glad someone finally told the truth about how so-called "mature" adults can stab kids in the back just by looking the other way.

Meanwhile, Damien's dad Satan is in town, challenging Jesus to a WWF style smack-down. The most interesting thing about this plot is the way Satan seems to have seen both EIGHT MEN OUT and ON THE WATERFRONT. But when the betting starts he comes out way ahead of Terry Malloy and the Black Sox . . . and that's because it's good to be the Prince (of darkness.) Good early episode, overall. A little crude, with a herky-jerky feel of two plots cobbled together. But the revolution had clearly begun . . . a case of young blades biting deep!

Here I go with "South Park" again

Warning: Spoilers
Yep, now I'm marathoning "South Park" and have decided to go all the way back to the first season looking at every single episode I haven't seen before. Anyway, this episode features a new kid named Damien who turns out to be the son of Satan. I believe this is Satan's first appearance in the show. He challenges Jesus to a fight. The best thing about this episode is the twist. It's revealed that since Satan is literally over twice as heavy as Jesus, everyone has bet against him except one person.

Jesus does defeat him, but everyone can see that Satan just threw the fight. And why did he do that? Turns out HE was the one person he bet against himself! I do wish that Damien would have become a recurring character. In all other episodes, Satan is gay, so how can he have a son? Maybe he just used his satanic powers to create him. ***1/2

Only 7's So Far
RicketyCricketImposter13 December 2021
The first season is filled with a lot of classics, but they're all pretty subpar. I still love them, but even giving them 7's feels high in terms of South Park. Anyhow, Damien is a good little episode, makes me feel bad for the antichrist and Jesus all together. I love Satan in South Park, but this is his first and worst episode of the series, only because he doesn't have his redeeming good nature. 7.7.

Funny episode

Damien is a South Park episode from Season 1.It is fairly funny and one of the better episodes of that season. The episode involves a new student named Damien coming to South Park. The boys and everyone else make fun of him and treat him like they do to Pip.Damien at first seaks vengeance but then tries to calm himself and afterwords becomes accepted...by blowing Pip up.Meanwhile, Satan is coming to town to fight Jesus and the boys help Jesus prepare for the fight, while the townspeople change their bets to Satan because he is stronger.Damien is a funny and good South Park episode.

Damien (#1.10)

Warning: Spoilers
The Damien episode brings us another Jesus related story line, actually this is the first time he is one of the main ones. And we also get to meet Satan. He sure is a great character both personality wise but also with his strong hunky looks, which plays a role here as everyone sees how much strong Satan (evil) is than Jesus (good). And Jesus is trying to make them see that betting on the evil will never work as they are betting for their wrestling battle. But everyone ends up betting for Satan, even the priest. This was a very hilarious part. Once again the show is great, very funny, creative and with references to the outside world and culture.

To the Devil With It

I didn't really find the story of this episode very creative or interesting. The devil comes to fight Jesus. Shrug. I know SP is capable of way more unique plot lines than this - it's literally just taken from The Omen as we know.

I found Damien's voice really annoying.

There were a few funny moments, but this is not on the same level as previous episodes.
