The University
auroranangel22 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Is it odd to anyone that scenes outside the university are introduced with a sign that says University of Metropolis but all other scenes have Metropolis University. Last time I checked there is a difference when schools have different names like that. For example, Georgia State University and University of Georgia, one is in Atlanta the other is in Athens. Just thought I would mention it. It is fun to see Luke from the OC acting as a football stud and not a water polo boy. Plus scenes including Lois are always good for fun. I love her character, she is really always full of surprises. Also, interesting developments between Jason and Lana.

Showing Integrity
claudio_carvalho7 June 2006
After a drinking competition, the winner Lois Lane hits a drunken abusive player of the Bulldog football team and later, the guy is found paralyzed and Lois is arrested for aggression. The Metropolis University offers a scholarship to Clark Kent to play football, and he is welcomed by the idol Geoff Johns (Chris Carmack). Seduced by the sorority girls and the reception of the other players, Clark takes a tough decision. Lex Luthor advises Lana Lang about the secrets of Jason Teague, including his encounter with her in Paris.

In "Recruit", Clark Kent shows a great integrity, sacrificing his love for football and building the character of a future national hero. I liked the proud reaction of Chloe Sullivan. The new mystery arisen by Lex Luthor about Jason and his mother Genevieve is very promising. My vote is eight.

Crazed Football Star
Rcwilkinson12316 December 2007
Clark gets recruited to play football at Metropolis University when the recruiter and star player from Met U. is more than sees the eye in this episode that is solid in parts and weak in others.

Clark goes on a recruiting trip to Metropolis University, and is guided by Geoff Johns, a recently graduated running back who is headed to the NFL. However, like Clark, Geoff has some secrets that he's hiding. Clark discovers that, much like himself, Geoff has had a little advantage on the field. This causes Clark to question his morals, particularly about whether it is right to continue to play football with such an unfair, decisive advantage. Meanwhile, Lex tells Lana about Jason Teague's mother who is determined to destroy the ancestor of the witch Countess Thoreau. He tells her that he suspects that this is why Jason got in a relationship with her.

This episode is crucial in one respect due to the fact that Clark's character and integrity is strengthened. However, due to a couple of select scenes, this isn't a strong episode.
