Santa's Little Helper
safenoe8 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Santa's Little Helper occupies a special place in The Simpsons, and avid fans will remember that he was introduced in the very first episode of The Simpsons. Several episodes have since been devoted to one of the favorite animated dogs, and The Canine Mutiny is one.

You could really feel Bart's loss when he rashly gives away Santa's Little Helper, but thankfully they reunite at the end thankfully.

The ending was a bit too edgy and kind of out of sorts even with the edginess of The Simpsons. It's as though the writers were wanting to inject a bit of "Bad Lieutenant" into an episode for that extra edge.

The Sweetest Episode of the Eighth Season,
lesleyharris3020 May 2014
The Canine Mutiny is a great Simpsons episode with a very well written storyline and loads of very funny scenes. It is without a doubt one of the weakest episodes of the eight season, but it is also the sweetest and most emotional episode, revolving around Bart's relationship with Santa's Little Helper, any episode revolving around that is always a sweet one because Bart has shown without a doubt over the years that he cares about that dog more than he does any member of his family or friends. The episode also has one of my favourite quotes, and definitely my favourite Milhouse quote,I'm not going to write out the whole thing, but it's about a fish bowl ("why did I have the bowl?").The Canine Mutiny is certainly a weaker episode of the eight season, but it's still a really great Simpsons episode.

After Bart manages to obtain a credit card,he buys a bunch of really expensive things, including an outstanding and talented dog called Laddie. When all his credit card bought items are taken away from him,he pretends Santa's Little Helper is Laddie and he gets taken away instead of the new dog,a decision Bart soon regrets.

The Old Credit Card Problem
Hitchcoc9 August 2022
Bart uses his dog's name to get a credit card. Using the phone he buys one piece of junk after another. Eventually, he orders a dog, a collie that is a magnificent animal. When the repo men come, Bart hands over Santa's Little Helper whose life changes. Eventually, Bart wants his old dog back and this leads to a series of pratfalls.
