Wiggum, Lou and Eddie arrive to investigate the "crime". After taking The Simpsons information, Lou and Wiggum walk out of the house, but Eddie seemingly disappears.
When Marge is shown on Jeopardy she participates in Final Jeopardy despite having a negative score of -$5,200 in reality she would have been eliminated as contestants with either $0 or a negative score are ineligible for Final Jeopardy although this was likely done for humor.
Although in real life, anyone with $0 or less at the end of the Double Jeopardy round is eliminated, when Marge is on Jeopardy! (1984), she is seen on Final Jeopardy with a deficit of $5,200. This is obviously used as a joke, along with Alex Trebek's guest appearance as a pushy, sinister version of himself, rather than reflecting the real rules of the game show.
When Bart opens the envelope, he says, "Aunt Selma. Always good for a fin." A "fin" is five dollars but he's clearly holding a one-dollar bill.
When the family flees the television studio after Marge appears on Jeopardy! (1984), snow can be seen on the ground. Jeopardy is filmed in Los Angeles where it doesn't snow.
