"King Size Homer" is an amazing episode. This shows how someone takes advantage of disability to get away with doing nothing!

Warning: Spoilers
What an awesome episode... wow. Homer wants to gain weight to go on disability. He purposes gains sixty-something pounds to add to his already near-obese stature just to be considered unfit to work. So Homer is bound to his home and pretty much simplifies his job with basic "yes" and "no" procedures at answering the command prompt on the computer. Homer leaves a tiny drinking bird to answer for him and leaves the house temporarily. When he returns, the bird is tipped over and the plant is in a nuclear meltdown. Due to the imminent problem, Homer has to stop the meltdown manually and rushes to the plant after numerous failed attempts from being so fat. He accidentally saves everyone due to his massively obese size by falling into the release tube and not allowing the toxic gas from escaping. Mr. Burns promises to bring Homer back to shape but after running out of patience, he just says he'll pay for the liposuction. Awesomeness for an episode.

A barrel of laughs

This is one of the best simpsons episodes I have ever watched. Some of the things Homer says in the episode are ridiculously funny

We have watched it about 500 times and it just gets funnier!

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this episode to viewers

Craving fat man

It's O.K., but are you the roof of "The Simpsons" from the episode episode "Lust Fat Homer"? It features the whole Simpsons family i.e. also the Bart Simpsons; Homer Boy-fans get to laugh and laugh it certain, even though Homer's fat wefts and others. Worth covering fast!

I wash myself with a rag on a stick

Excellent episode that today would raise more than one protest. In the first place, it clearly and overwhelmingly denounces those who want to take advantage of a system designed to help the unfortunate. Secondly, in full growth of obesity, it launches a warning in favor of protecting health. Yes, it does it in a comical, acid way and surely some of the viewers today will make them feel uncomfortable (more now than when it was released). But there is no bad intention behind it beyond denouncing lifestyles that are poisonous to society, at a time when YouTube and Memes did not exist, so direct phrases such as Bart washing himself with a stick could not be thrown in the face as now. Let's remember that the average American man has gone from weighing 175 pounds in 1960 to 195 in 2010 and the woman from 140 to 175. This topic will be dealt with again 19 years later in the episode "Walking big & Tall" in a more direct and less funny. I personally prefer King Size Homer, because the best way to deliver a message to the heart is to entertain.

Homer The Great Lard

Warning: Spoilers
Love this episode, one of my favourites from Season 7. I remember how much I laughed when I first saw it back in 95. Mr Burns taking a fitness class seems a bit out of whack, but it does make up for a good episode. Love how Homer procrastinates at home, using the free sample of fabric softer, and getting the toy to press the Y button. Of course, the classic line, "which is the any key", always make me laugh.

Great episode and one of my top 10 favourites

I think it's ironic that for once...

Homer puts on 60lbs so he can qualify for the benefits of being classified as disabled because of obesity.

This is a classic parody of a certain type of mentality that unfortunately exists.

The satire in the writing of 'King Size Homer' is quite vicious and so it should be when the attitude in focus is widespread in countries like mine. There are some incredibly lazy and extreme moments, but they all work.

Lots of characters are used brilliantly by the writers, particularly Homer who is at his most incompetent and outrageous. Marge, Lisa, Bart, Mr Burns, and Dr Nick Riviera also have great moments.

I love episodes that are built purely on character traits, and this is the textbook example!

Home gains well over 65 pounds in order to get fat and get put on disability. This would allow him to work from home. This leads to near disastrous consequences. Great fat jokes and events caused by Homer's weight. This would be fun for those dealing with COVID to watch.

King Homer

Warning: Spoilers
This is one episode of The Simpsons I've seen quite a number of times recently and shortly after its release.

So, it starts with Homer at work disliking the calisthenics program and finding out a former employee disabled and gets paid work from home, Homer plans to use it to his advantage. Somehow, I reminds me of the COVID lockdown when students couldn't go to schools and colleges.

After Homer gets a muumuu to wear to work. Unfortunately, because of his obesity, fails to use the phone with his chubby fingers, and tyres of car and skateboard are wrecked.

This episode has its moments with Dr. Nick Riviera and when he drives ice-cream truck to the power plant.

Homer's lazier than ever, and funny
richspenc9 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This is my new changed and edited review. The five negative marks and no positive marks rating you see above is from my old review before I changed it to how you see it written here now.

"King sized Homer" is a funny episode. Homer, already being overweight with his well known beer gut, decides to add another sixty pounds to him just so he doesn't have to go to work, which he starts doing with the help of Dr. Nick Riviera (who went to Hollywood upstairs medical college and thought Bart did too when he says Homer should brush his teeth with milkshakes), Homer learns those extra tricks to help speed things up, such as also using pop tarts instead of bread for his sandwiches, and rubbing food againced paper/ window to see if it turns clear from the grease before he eats it (which gives us a funny "bird flying into the window" joke). I also liked the towl rack while weighing himself joke and Homer eating absolutely everything possibly edible including soy sauce, paprika, etc. and then turning to Maggie's non-toxic playd'oh, I mean playdough. Lol. When Homer reaches his morbidly obese appearance (a picture I will always know that it's this episode when I see it), Mr. Burns places a work station into his living room with another of many "who's Homer" jokes (who's this gastropod Smithers? Smithers: Its Homer Simpson sir, one of your chair moisteners from sector 7G). Marge is understandably not too happy about how he's ruining his health, setting a bad example, etc. There are some funny moments with Homer starting to work at home on the computer ("there isn't any any key" in response to 'press any key to start', and "where's my tab? I'm thirsty" after he pushes the tab button). We see the Homer's half brother Herb's drinking bird from "Brother, can you spare two dimes?", which he uses to fill in for him while he says "nuts to that, I'm going to the movies" while wearing his well chosen Mumu. The scene at the store where he buys the Mumu is funny (clerk to Homer: "you work with computers, right? Yeh, it must be computers, due to all the nonstop sitting and snacking"). I also found funny the scene at the movie theater, the manager won't let him in because of his size. Homer protests, and the manager says "sir, if you just quiet down, I'll treat you to a garbage bag full of popcorn". This is one of the two episodes where Homer acts at his most stupid, the other one being "Homer goes to college" where he lights his diploma on fire and sings "I am the smart. S M R T, I mean S M A R T." Spoiler warning: I. like the ending of this episode too involving a nuclear tank acting up and Homer getting humorously stuck.

The Whale
safenoe23 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Around a quarter-of-a-century before The Whale was released, we had King Size Homer from the seventh series of The Simpsons, and it kind of garners sympathy for Homer and anyone in life you see who sports (willingly or not) a beer belly through life without any shame, knowing that people give looks of disgust at them or pity at the very least.

Anyway, we see that Homer's king size girth saves the day at the end for the nuclear plant and beyond, and it works out thankfully. I would have loved for the celebrity fitness people to have made cameo voice appearances and that would have been quite touching.
