Warning: Spoilers
Weird, nothing else for the most part really.

Not enough conflict.

Why would Fat Tony's mob want to borrow the house instead of kill homer or torture him in exchange for forgiving gambling debts?

That seems as weird as the Manatee A plot.

Not funny and, the part where the Manatee gets eaten is strange.

Bet with the boring manatees, it's not fun, it doesn't teach any morals whatsoever and it can't even entertain, really a bland and undeserving episode.

One of the best recent episodes in memory

This one has everything, sea cows, rubes, Alec Baldwin, this episode is absolutely great. I never tire of watching it. It is one of those episodes that starts out completely off the wall and keeps going from there. **SPOILERS** Marge leaves homer and goes to the sea, where she meets a manatee expert played by Alec Baldwin. He shows her his world, and invites her to join him as he saves the dugones. We find out that they are quite stupid simple creatures and are definitely not helping their own survival. Homer finally comes to his senses and comes after her, first stopping by Santa's little helpers cousins house to visit. hilarity ensues as he continually refers to everyone as rubes, finally of course reuniting with Marge in the end for a happy ending. worth checking out.

Decent episode

I originally heard that the manatees storyline was going to be used in 'The Simpsons Movie', i'm so glad that it didn't. The storyline fit into a 20 minute episode well, but it wouldn't have been movie material.

The episode is one of the best from season 17 and contained some hilarious scenes, such as Professor Pigskin, and the 'You're needed at home!' scene. And Alec Baldwin (once again!) appeared in the show, which I was pleased by.

Overall, it was a decent episode, not great, but we don't tend to find many 'classic' episodes in a later season.
