Strongest premiere of The Shield so far
Zokas14 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This episode serves as a great introduction to Season 4.

We're reintroduced to Vic and Ronnie, now the sole 'survivors' of the now-disbanded Strike Team, now working on sting operations based on surveillance footage from inside rental cars, a story that began midway last season. Just the look of the former Strike Team room shows us how much has changed - dart boards and couches replaced by wall-to-wall shelves of video tapes. The beloved 'STRIKE TEAM ONLY' marker message on the door has also sadly been painted over.

Glen Close is introduced immediately into the show, who'll be taking over from Aceveda as captain. Immediately there's an interesting chemistry between her character and Vic, and it'll surely only get better as it develops. It's nice to see that Vic gets to have somewhat of a fresh start with a new boss, as Aceveda knew or at least suspected the type of cop Vic was.

What I found most interesting about this episode is how the two former members of the Strike Team, Lem and Shane, are reworked into the story. They're now both on their own, and at least Lem appears to miss the Strike Team somewhat. Shane on the other hand seems to have followed quite a dark path during the time spent away and is now become a character even Vic doesn't know what to make of.

Probably the strongest premiere episode of The Shield so far, mostly due to the characters and how they're interacting. It also provides the most questions, such as if and how Lem and Shane will come back to the team. I hope the writers can keep the characters and stories just as interesting all season.

Strong premiere

Warning: Spoilers
In first look Officer Scooby gets to shoot a pug dog, that sends everything in motion with Assistant Chief Roy returning to the show and making appearance. This time lecturing the officer about new mandates but detectives are ready to cover for his ass.

Pretty strong character introduction for a new character called Monica Rawling. So many good filling scenes with Monica visiting Antwon Mitchell's speech, her and Vic in the car talking about life and why they shut the Strike Team down.

Antwon Mitchell, a 90's oldschool drug dealer is back out of prison, he is holding a community event in one big building full of crowd. He is very clever and smart about redeeming his image to the public, we yet fully don't know what he is about.

What we know about the Strike Team itself ? Well Ronnie and Vic are assigned to tape duty in their Clubhouse. Only then when soon to be Captain Rawling takes a tour , Vic gets to be outside for a couple of hours.

Ronnie discovers some father beating his kid for playing with the steering wheel, it sets all Vic's emotion on fire and goes to the bar where he is drinking at and lets him take the first punch on him so he gets to beat him to pulp and arrest him.

As for the case , 4 people are drowned and the small kid is still out there somewhere. Pretty compelling when you are thinking how many emotional strings characters bring to the table when it comes to acting.

The attorney's office is giving hard time to Claudette and Dutch now , since after the episode 3x15 '' On Tilt '' . Claudettes fixing that one case, reopened many others for a reconvictions. The new detective ''Billings''gets assigned primary on the drowning. So far we only get tiny breadcrumbs of this guy, who he is and where he even came from.

As for Claudette not being the next Captain of the Barn, she is pretty quiet and pissed off and showing frustration, Dutch is trying to handle it awkwardly.

Don't know why this episode in particular is so low rated in IMDB.

Why this season rated so low?

Warning: Spoilers
This season is phenomenal like the other seasons.

The acting is getting way better now.

The writing is so good & the plot is getting more interesting.

We get new characters and an awesome new villain.

Glenn Close is an amazing actor, & and her character is one of the best.

The drama with the characters because of what happened before makes this season so good & interesting.

I give this episode 9/10 first, but because of low rating I will give 10/10.
