Lemansky vs. the Strike Team.
johnnylaw4013 May 2006
This episode blew me away.

Lem really stands out in this episode as the lead character. He fights to save his friends, and has to take them all on to do so.

Powerful performances from Kenny Johnson, Walton Goggins, and Michael Chiklis, but Kenny Johnson stands out so much. His role in the future of the Strike Team and as well as the show is defined here.

The fear of going to jail is only amplified when Dutch becomes suspecting of the Team. This is the moment everything begins to fall.

The Strike Team at odds, at the verge of prison...one of the best episodes not only of 'The Shield' but of any show I have ever seen.

Lem reaches his breaking point

Warning: Spoilers
This was a fantastic episode that really allowed Kenny Johnson to show off his character and the role he plays within the Strike Team. It's not often that it happens but when it does it's just brilliant.

It seems to becoming the tradition on The Shield to really amp things up towards the finale, and this season is no different. While this season hasn't been as exciting or groundbreaking as the second glorious season, it has had its moments, the strings of which are tied into this penultimate episode: Lem and Vic seeing Tavon about the fight, Acevada warning Claudette about her future captaincy, the Money Train investigation amping up.

The episode really kicks into gear in the second half and its great to see the effects of the Money Train investigation on the Strike Team, especially Vic and Lem. We see how far Vic is willing to go to get the information he needs. The rising body count, and the latest being an innocent girl, is what finally breaks Lem and pushes him to do the extreme.

The final scene is unforgettable and simply amazing - you think absolutely anything could happen. I even knew what was going to happen and STILL the scene floored me. Now, how will the season finale compare?

Potential best episode in the show so far with one of the best scenes in all of TV.

Warning: Spoilers
Now this episode has a lot going on, but I'm just going to focus on that scene in the end of the episode where Lem runs off to burn the money. This has become one of my favorite scenes in all of TV. All the actors are bringing everything they've got to this scene. Everything has been building up to this. Lem is obviously the best of them, always looking out for them, almost acting as their conscience, stopping them before they go too far, but often suppressed and corrupted. Lem has been strained from this too far and too long, even manifesting physically with an ulcer. It's totally believable Lem would do this, he's killing what made all of this happen in the first place, but his optimism in fixing this problem like that is misguided. Shane pulling the gun is devastating because it's showing that he's choosing the money over Lem. In a way Shane is right, burning the money isn't going to fix everything, but he is also misguided as his greed for the money always causes him to use violence instead of reason. Those looks all the characters give each other are just so sublime and impactful, as everyone realizes what they've become and done. This scene is one of the simplest and most powerful depictions of greed. To think the team would be broken up, and fight over scraps on the ground like animals after everything they've been through. The money, the greed, being burnt, bringing their own self destruction. When Lem says, "You guys- you guys are the only family I got, alright. I'm not gonna let any of us go to prison." I almost teared up right there. I had chills for the entire scene. Then Vic replies with, "That's a decision for the four of us to make." showing how Vic can't let go of the control, and may actually consider prison for them. Another devastating and misguided attempt to extinguish the fire brought out out by the greed. Lem saying "I've always gone along with everything you ever wanted, and all that's done is get us deeper and deeper into s***." puts his perspective perfectly. All the characters are right and wrong in their own ways but they bring out their worst sides because of the greed and it ruins all of them. The only way this scene could be better is if Ronnie was more developed, because honestly he's easily the least developed main character in the show and it's still one of the biggest flaws in the show, but I digress. Overall this episode was already amazing on its own, but the final scene brought it to a whole other level. I do want to do justice to the rest of the episode too, but honestly that scene has emotionally impacted me so much that I honestly can't bring myself to do it. Perhaps another time when I rewatch this show fully, but for now I'm satisfied enough just explaining why I love this scene so much.

''All In'' very good buildup to season finale.
michaelchikliscares15 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is really good, one of the best of this season.

It starts out with Crosby Nell from Treasury and Captain David Aceveda walking in the office building, Crosby lets David know that there is a mole who tried to access strike team's personal files.

Vic visits Tavon in the hospital, Vic tries to speak him down and convince that while in fight with Shane , he hurt Mara's unborn baby, but he won't budge on that, that makes Mackey visit Shane and tell that they are pretty much screwed.

Shane tells that Tavon's weak spot was always Lem so both Vic and Lem could work on him, convincing the lie. While Shane and Vic walk out of his apartment, Vic quotes this to Mara ''Try not get us thrown to jail while we're gone ''. Michele Hicks has the most hilarious face to that.

Strike Team is going to shake down the armenian community. They run into one of the buildings. Petrosh hurries to delete information from the computer. The transaction logs. From him they find out that also Petrosh fears Margos Dezerian and wants him gone.

Vic and Shane also interrogate the young bookkeeper Ayla who was forced to work for them because her younger sister is kept prisoned by Margos.

Great episode

Rewatching The Shield after a few years and it is still one of the best TV shows ever.

About this episode: Lem's crazy, he is so scared and acting crazy, I felt bad for all that money. Another thing that sticks out from this episode is Stana Katic, her nose to be precise. For a few moments I knew I saw her somewhere but took me a few minutes to realize that's Stana! Wow, what a transformation! Stana from this episode and Stana from Castle - half a pound difference.
