Quite funny episode. The review before has some mistakes. Kramer is actually wearing a vintage suit and while he is the department store (I believe Barneys), Bania comes by and wants to buy the suit because he is working out and is now up to size 42. Kramer sells him the suit on the spot for ~ $300.

The appearance of Bania is quite similar to the episode with the Armani suit. Jerry gets his dry cleaner ticket for 2 dinners at Mandys ... And Kramer used a new hand moisturizer ... And there was Uma Thurman ...

Always something going on

Warning: Spoilers
The pure genius of his show was the multiple storylines. Jerry has his dry cleaner wearing his clothes, George has his sexy secretary, Elaine has skinny mirrors, and Kramer has Uma. Besides Banya makes an appearance.

I Expect Too Much

George gets a new secretary. He interviews several possibilities, but they are knockout gorgeous and he has to dismiss them (he feels he wouldn't be able to do anything productive). He ends up with a passionate tryst involving a plain looking woman whom he hires. The problem We have Jerry and his dry cleaners using his nice clothes while they are in the shop being cleaned. This also includes a fur coat belonging to his mother that the proprietor's wife wears. Meanwhile, Kramer sells his clothes to that goofy comedian that Jerry hates. There's a laundry ticket in the pocket that belongs to Jerry. He has to agree to take the guy to dinner--again, to get the ticket. There's also a phone number for Uma Thurmand. Finally we have the ongoing antics of Elaine and her clothes and a skinny mirror.

"It's definitely do-able."
itamarscomix4 October 2011
Season 6, Episode 9, "The Secretary" "The Secretary" is a good filler episode, one of the weaker in season 6 but it has its share of great moments. Steve Hytner makes a glorious return as Kenny Bania, the comedian we love to hate, and Vicki Lewis (from NewsRadio) is hilarious as George's secretary Ada.

The main plot deals with George and his new secretary and it's hilarious; the other story lines, unfortunately, aren't really explored as well as they could be. Kramer has some very funny moments, but he doesn't get to do much in the episode; Elaine's storyline hardly gets any laughs at all.

Red head was pretty hot too
ThunderKing626 March 2023
George is man...he is an impulsive badingsky.

This review was written in March of the 26th in the year 2023rd of the 21st Century

What is this episode about?: George hires a secretary.

Jerry discovers his new dry cleaner is wearing his clothes out and about in the city.

Elaine tries on clothes.

Kramer sells clothes.

Bania returns...

The Story and The Production Overview: A nice nugget of an episode

Elaines, Kramer and Jerry's stories clash. Then there is George who is left alone vex that his hot red head secretary makes more than him.

Highlight: I like how the Bania and Jerry feud continued.

Girlfriend attractiveness level: None of the cast had a girl but Elaine looked good in the second dress she tried on.

Laugh meter: 7

What can be learned?: Use a washing machine instead.

Verdict: Am episode organized very well.

"I'll give you a raise"!

Warning: Spoilers
The Plot of the episode: George hires a secretary who is a nerd, only to realize that he is in love with her. While having sex, he tells her that he'll give her a raise. He does, and it turns out that she is being payed more than he is. Elaine goes to buy this dress and looks at herself in the mirror. Only to realize that the dress makes her look fat. Bania sells his Armani suit to Kramer. Jerry wants to get his dry-cleaning ticket, which is in the Armani suit that Bania just took back.

The Secretary is a pretty funny episode. Mostly because the secretary gets payed more than George does. I also like how Kramer is in the changing room the whole episode because Bania(Stephen Hytner) took his suit back. The Secretary is a great episode.

Bania's back
safenoe23 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The Secretary is directed by David Owen Trainor, and in fact Trainor was the technical director of Seinfeld, so The Secretary is the first of two episodes that Trainor director. Anyway, Bania returns in full glory to claim not one, but two (yes two!) free dinners from Seinfeld, and not just ordinary dinners, but top-class dinners. I'm very much re-watching Seinfeld after I first watched it on its debut back in the early 1990s, wow, three decades ago. In fact, The Secretary debuted 30 years ago, and is a Christmas episode.

Vicki Lewis, who later became a superstar in NewsRadio, guest stars as George's new secretary.

I'm Giving You a Raise
Samuel-Shovel5 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
George gets to hire a secretary for his new job with the Yankees but he wants one that he won't try to have sex with; this plan quickly falls apart. Elaine tries to buy a dress at a store but she only looks good in their clothes in the "skinny" mirrors at the store. Jerry is convinced that his dry cleaner is borrowing his clothes and Kramer sells his vintage suit to Kenny Bania.

Another solid episode from Season 6, we get great guest appearances from Steve Hytner & Vicki Lewis who are both hilarious in this one. As it always goes with these episodes, all these characters are constantly bumping into each other all over NYC, how very convenient.

Still though, while not the best this season has to offer, another solid entry to Seinfeld.
