A Strange One
Samuel-Shovel20 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Money" Jerry's parents come to town. They've sold the Cadillac to Jack Klompus to give Jerry money, thinking he's in financial trouble. J. Peterman returns to town, ousting Elaine from her role. George tries to figure out how much money his parents have and when they might die and give it to him, inadvertently causing them to start blowing through it. Kramer has issues sleeping next to his new girlfriend since she flails around in her sleep.

This episode is a bit of an oddity, setting up some bizarre threads. The Seinfeld's moving into a trailer is a wild bit to throw in there. George's parents doing their back and forth Florida bit is a retread of another episode's joke. They set up a girlfriend for Kramer whose never acknowledged again but is also never explicitly broken up with in screen like most romantic interests we see on the show.

It's not a terrible episode so much as it's just... weird?

On the money

Warning: Spoilers
John O'Hurley makes a welcome return as J. Peterman, who was in an Apocalypse Now state in Burma a few episodes back, so good to see Peterman take the helm from Elaine, who is very distraught at losing her stock options and enduring a salary cut and the benefits of being a CEO. Money is the focus of this episode, along with prestige and power and all init. Anyway, I'm enjoying reflecting on Seinfeld, and rewatching many of the episodes, having first watched it when it debuted back in the 1990s, which is ages and ages ago. Jerry makes many trips to Florida to sort out the cadillac for his parent.

Only good things: Peterman is back and saying "Hey. I think that's Sarah Silverman."

The Check Bounces Back
Hitchcoc25 March 2023
The fact that Jerry bounced one check (the bank's fault) has trickled down all over the place. His parents think he's broke and sell the Cadillac for almost nothing. This leads to a series of events involving travel to Florida. George realizes that his parents must have money and that he will inherit it at some point. If they stay put in New York, they will spend less and there will be more for George when they die. We also have Kramer moving in to the Costanzas because when he sleeps with his girlfriend she flings her arms around and kicks him. I felt like this episode just didn't go anywhere.

Not good

One of the few episodes that I didn't like, not up-to the expectations set by the show.

A Dull One
juanmaffeo22 May 2016
I can't remember the last time I was so uninterested by a Seinfeld Episode.

Being serious here, this has to be one of the most dull, boring and worst performed episodes in the entire series. The jokes aren't funny, the pace it's a turtle, there's no arc in any character's story. My God, even the audience isn't laughing that much. Having said that, it is a Seinfeld episode with Seinfeld characters. With that you will at least get the characters that you love and it will make the episode bearable.

When I think of this episode there just a blank space. The only thing that comes to mind is Sarah Silverman. Now, that's alright.
